Receiving intelsat 39 in Belgium

My Satellite Setup
80cm disch universal lnb
My Location
Belgium
Hello all,

I try to receive 11555 V on intelsat 39 but am not successfull. Currently my dish is pointed to hotbird which is working fine.
According to the intelsat 39 coverage I should be able to receive it by a 60-75cm dish which I am currently using. And this on Middle east KU band.

Do I need a special lnb to receive KU band? what about my receiver?
What could be the problem

Hi @feridomkoloft , welcome to the forum! LNB you are using to receive signals from 13*E will also work for 39*E

My dish is 80cm which should be fine aswell according to the footprint I guess.
My receiver itself is a Vizyon 1020HD.
What could be the problem? What should I check
More specific, I try to receive IRIB channels on 11555 V / 30000
 
You are probably neglecting the skew, try to rotate the LNB to the right (aspect to reflector) for some 25 degres.

Elevation angle towards 63E would be just around 10 to 13 degrees, for Belgium.
Are you sure you have a clear line of sight towards the satellite?

Do you have a satbeeper/satfinder (or so), to check if you can find satellite signal?
What have you done, to try to find the satellite?
Is this the first time, that you try to receive another satellite? (Or what experience do you have?)

Hey man,
Yes that could be a point.
unfortunately there is no degrees sign on this lnb so I tried to put it on aprox 35 degrees without knowing + or - direction.
So aspect to reflector I will have to turn it to right for 35 degrees

Yes have adjusted the elevation on 11 degrees.

No, sight towards the satellite is not very clear, after +/- 50m there is a forest in sight...
(eventually I can install the dish on attic floor, then the sight should be more clear, at this moment it's on the first floor)

No Don't have a beeper just using my smartphone to find the direction aprox after setting elevation correctly (11 degrees)
Not alot of experience, just receiving hotbird for myself by dishpointing application on my smartphone.
Receiving hotbird is very easy at my place
 
Those degrees were meant apoximately, you can find some calculations for that on the internet, but for the purpose of finding the signal you just have to play with that in practice... turning the LNB will help to divide H from V (or viceversa) and the signal might pop up at one point...

Another suggestion would be to go step by step towards east by selecting strong satellites in between, like Astra 2, Turksat West beam, TürkmenÄlem...
 
Try this site, it will give you the beams for that satellite, all you do is select the ""ME"" beam at the top of the page, then zoom into your location and click on it, this will give you pointing info and recommend dish size for that beam at your location.

You can also go to www.dishpointer.com, enter your address and select 62.0 E as the satellite, again it will give you a map, zoom into where the dish is located and click on it, this will give you a line on the map showing the pointing location of the satellite, also it has an obstruction option, this will tell you if the satellite is blocked by something.

Smartphone isn't often very precise.
When you don't have a satbeeper (which gives signal, whenever you get some sort of satellite signal, so you know you are on the arc (though not on which satellite)), that is not easy.

I'd use the sun to find the correct azimuth, and use this calculator for the exact time that the sun is at the same azimuth as the satellite: Satellite Look Angle Calculator
Also dishpointer.com might help, to find direction; as was written above by @Terryl .
