Octagon sf4008 4k uhd e2 updates 26.05.2019

Both tuner circuit boards and a USB upgrade ?

I give up. I had ordered a new receiver an Octagon SF 8008. I have good experience with them.
Thank you for all your help !
No, it does suggest the main board was - also - damaged, which would be difficult to identify and fix for the cost of a more modern receiver.

Did your 4008 have an internal hard drive installed ?

No. I used only external HDD.

OK. I would have suggested to remove the internal connections in the next message, but you could try to access the content on another device in case that has also been caught/damaged in the discharge.

Yes, I will do that. Thank you for the support.

Thanks for the upate here and your continued great work at Legit***........:Y

Wow !

Who retired / sold their box when Octagon support had been dropped ?
I never bought one for that reason...Blind Scan was promised but never materialised..
Might he a few on eBay now..lol

The results are truly excellent: the blind scan detects an SR of 952, and manually it can read radios with an SR of 400

I bought mine purely on comments here some four years ago, for around E60 delivered and found it included a hard drive.

I've been using it for other projects but it certainly was worth the outlay.

We have ran out of new receivers for FTA. Nothing "New" has appeared in at least 5 years. What we get as "New" today are old parts installed into new cases with kernels that are beyond retirement age by several years.

I made an effort to go back and fix what was not working when released. This includes:
Add 22KHz tone control for satellite blindscan in vuzero4k
Fix audio for some radio channels in vuzero4k
Add satellite blindscan to GigaBlue PnP DVB-S2x tuners for gb7252 models.
Fix audio on some gbue4k radio channels
Add satellite blindscan to Octagon sf4008.
Fix audio on some Octagon sf4008 radio channels.
Add some usb tuners to Octagon sf4008.

And when possible, extending the symbol rate down where low symbol rate transponders with radio channels can be received.

Hopefully some of these edits will help the FTA enthusiast for a while. At some point though "New" FTA receiver models will need to appear. The word "New" Does Not include the recycled FTA receivers that are being sold today.

Many amateur radio operators can also be received via Es'hail-2 (25.9° East) (an SR of 500 works; an SR of 333 is too low).
The frequency is incorrect because an additional LNB with a different LOF (Local Oscillator Frequency) is being used.

and , it can receive Multistream with PID—fantastic for a 10-year-old receiver.
