The best alternative to 5925 is its successor, 5927, which is the most viable and powerful tuner among all current USB devices, but it does not support the S2X extension.
It works well with neumoDVB.

how does it perform on the lower sr's with carriers close together on 7e etc.? my 6903 gives a clean spectrum but can sometimes pair 2 carriers into 1 on the graph.
 
I haven't tested 5927 with neumoDVB on nearby frequencies, those with low symbol rates.
When I get the chance, I'll try devices on Radio Maria at 3.1E or another position.

OK, you're less demanding on the device. I don't even need to test it on such a symbol rate, because there are no problems.

I didn't have time to scan the entire satellite. However, for confirmation, I only selected a few muxes with a symbol rate of 7200.

I'm seeing this message on several channels: Service "channel name": no data.
How do I hide this message? I couldn't find a way to do it in the /doc folder.
It may be generated by line 578 of ./src/receiver/active_service.cc
I'm using the latest version of neumodvb.

That's with my Ubuntu 24.04, a child of Debian of course. {Both use apt for package install).

In Debian 13, python3-sip-dev (version 4, Debian 12) was replaced by python3-sipbuild (version 6) and is not suitable for compiling NeumoDVB.

neumodvb does not really need sip. I have removed this dependency just now.

I installed the latest version of nuemodvb on Fedora 42 and Debian 13, and I can't switch channels on either distribution.
Are you experiencing the same issue?

Attached is a preview of a new neumodvb feature: reverse play. I have included the video in a zip file,
as it is likely to get rejected on youtube. You can see/hear the song "tiger feet". At some point I turn on the progress
bar and I then press the key for reverse play and you can see/hear the video play in reverse.

The video playback stalls at a few points in the zip file, but that is due to the screen recording software.
Currently bad things happen when you reach the point at which the channel was tuned. So some more work is needed.


The real test will be to apply it on one of Trump's speeches and check if they then start to make sense.
The reasoning is like: if songs from the 70s reveal devilish messages when played back, then who knows
what will happen when playing gangster rap in reverse. :->
