The Inverto circular LNB was probably referenced as a comparison point because it uses a different receive/polarisation arrangement from the Norsat setup, so it helps separate LNB characteristics from the effects of the scalar, polariser, and waveguide transition. Your note about the H/V rotation bearings is also important: if the bearing or rotation mechanism is not holding the LNB precisely, even a small positional or angular error could affect the measured signal level and make the comparison less reliable.

Hi, welcome to the forum
Understand what you are saying - for DX, tricky signals or very low level stuff i use a motorised pol lnb skew and focus control in conjunction with a real-time analyser running to keep an eye on things etc

Thanks for the welcome. That sounds like a very useful setup for DX work, especially when dealing with weak or tricky signals. Having motorised skew and focus control should make fine adjustments much easier, and good bearings in the rotation mechanism are important for keeping everything stable and repeatable while monitoring the signal in real time.
