The beacon is there, but we dont know the frequency. You cannot see it using crazyscan, you need a radioscanner.

I've split off the Posts about Ka Band into a separate Topic

That should make it easier to keep up with Transition news here, for now.

TLE #44 of yesterday evening (17 Nov 21:29 UTC), still had Astra 2E stable at 43.5 East.

Well it had better shuffle off soon, or I shall be proven to have jumped the gun by shifting chat here instead!

Yup - always a bit risky making a decision without actual proof - Maybe its stuck :)

Are we there yet? :-lol

Shouldn't we get a TLE update overnight tonight? Lets hope she's still not moving East otherwise we'll all be stumped :(

That's one for Charlie Boorman (Aptly named)

TLE #45 of yesterday evening (18 Nov 22:23 UTC): Astra 2E stable at 43.5 East. :-sleep

Perhaps they've just started with the ka-band tests now

Interesting thought!

Mind you, there were a few lulls in Ku Band Testing, so maybe that was due to Ka Band tests?

It's a shame SES/Astrium don't publish Chapter and Verse on such things, but I can understand why. Apart from us hobbyists, the new Bird is totally invisible to mainstream punters in the intended reception area.
