He has already stated that the Disney channels will be migrated first, and that the first migration will be Monday.

2B has joined the party of beacons. Left to right, 11706V (2A), 11707.5V (2E), 11708V 2B, 11710V 2B, 11711V (2F).

Satesco's 11708V carrier mentioned earlier was new entrant 2B's.

If satellites could wave, I'm sure 2B would be waving as she glides past her old chums tonight.

So, the big question. What do we think will happen over the next couple of weeks?

I think we can say, without fear of contraception, that 1N transponders will be moved to 2E UK and PE beam so that 1N can go to 19.2E where it was supposed to be when launched.
That leaves 2A and to a lesser degree Eutelsat 28A.
Do we think they will leave 2A, as is, until 2G arrives or will they move a few things over?
My interest in all of this is the Canaries as we have a place out there. With a 1.2m dish, the main weapon of choice in that neck of the woods, we can get PE beams, except 1N PE1 which is a smaller footprint than the rest, and some 2A North beams, such as ITV 2,3 and 4HD and British Eurosport 1 and 2. I was wondering whether the ITV 2,3 and 4 will go to a UK or PE beam when they move them off 2A?

Any thoughts gents?

we can see of 2a also switch to 2e

At first 2E will completely replace 1N, anything else would be very surprising. Besides that I think 2A will stay until 2G arrives. Eutelsat 28A will stay as well, I think they will use it until its end of life and then hand the band over to SES. If 1N will be moved to 19.2 once all transponders are on 2E remains to be seen, but I think I remember SES wrote on Facebook in November 2012 1N would be sent to 19.2 once 2E is in operation.

the ses have carry 1n move to 19.2e replace satellite first march

Just a thought, now that 28A transponders are to move to 2E/2F/2G is the transponder 11428H (Freesat Home Transponder) available on any of the 3? Looking at the 19.2 Frequency plan looks to me to be between 2 other transponders. Looking at my Freesat HDR does not seem to have a programmable Home Transponder. The Home transponder provides the EPG and OTG firmware updates, rather like the the Sky Default transponder.

Looks like I may have to dust off the sky box, if the Humax HDR EPG stops working.

I don't know the answer to that, but it would be beyond belief if Freesat don't have a solution lined up.

The changes in the fleet won't have caught them by surprise.

(PS: Where's the "fingers-crossed" smiley?!)

This is something I'd been discussing on DS. There were some tests on 2E that where very close to the Freesat home transponder on 11.425H but not sure if it was from the Middle East beam as 2E isn't really supposed to cover band A?

Seeing as any two of the new satellites (i.e. 2E and 2F) cover every band , could SES switch 2A transponders to the new satellites and keep 2A as backup until 2G arrives? would also save fuel on 2A as station keeping unnecessary.

That's the plan, as I understand it.

Is that the same person who said on DS that "ASTRA2A is it being replaced by ASTRA1H" :)

Apologies, I started it. :-buttkick

I'm sure they can migrate STB's from that TP to another, providing there's some dual illumination. Also, within the EIT data transmit alongside other channels I'm sure there's default TP NIT data so, say, a STB that is powered down and misses the dual illumiation period can find the Freesat Home TP. A Box re-scan would also pick it up too.

inresting if it go 12500 band and low band of astra 2f ?
