Gibertini polarmount settings

Hi I have set my polar mount elevation angle to 50 as my location is 50.56

So how can I work out the declanation angle please?
 
Align for the strongest possible signal with the correct elevation set (which you have) at the highest satellite at your position... 1W or 4W in Somerset.
 
Many thanks for the advice. And it seems to be working a treat. :-) and I can track 47,5 east to 45 west.

So is this a normal amount of travel or can I get any further round?

Or may be I need to get my iss 1meter back up to see if I can get further round.
 
Depends on the jack's fixing point. You may be able to adjust it to get a wider at arc. Swapping sides also helps. I have my arm on the eastern side so it's far more accurate there than on the western one. I can receive between 53e and 40w on my Fibo with the Channel Master mount but could be adjusted for more, no doubt.
 
I have managed to track 47.5 east to 45 west but I am still looking.

My 1 meter iss dish used to track 47.5e to 53w and I would have liked to try and track the same arc

I certainly get nice neck exercises with your pictures :)

What you could do is mount the jack closer to the "neck" of the extending arm... will give you a wider range to the east... though might restrict it to the west.

I've got a 1.5m but the polar mount is the same. I get satellites from 57E to 61W. At 61W the mount is at the end of its travel. Past 57E is limited by some trees, not the mount. So right now you are at least 25º off the possible travel of the mount.
 
Just used a gps satellite location app on my iphone and I can see 72e to 57e then there is a tree in the way 47.5 starts again through to 30w then I have another tree in the way from 31.5w to 50w and 53w is just poping over the top of anothe house.

I can lock signals on 47.5 East to 45 West. Ku and C-band.

So just a fine tune of the dish face tomorrow and I should have it. :-)
 
Have you got a photo of the LNB setup?
 
I seem to be having another problem at the moment, it's all to do with 31.5 w after some adjustments it is there and no ends, then I adjust it to get the ends and then 31.5 is gone. I am going to recheck all angles tomorrow.
 
Your doing ok if your getting 31.5W, and I would say your lined up good, this is a fringe satellite and signals may come and go on a 1.25 dish.

Something wrong here. Correct polar mount elevation for your location is 38.8º. Declination is 6.7º. If you subtract the declination from the elevation it will give you the elevation of your due south satellite. 38.8 - 6.7 = 32.1º. Just looking at the mount in the photos looks wrong. It looks set up pretty much the same as mine and I am 12º further south.

I guess the settings mentioned are from what it says on the mount, not by using the correct method of an angle finder ?.

TBH, I had a look at the mount and I can't make head or tail of the markings on it. To adjust any motor or polar mount I always use my digital level.

I have had it before setting my 1.2 cm up the settings on the mount was miles out, I ended up using an app on my phone and fine tuning to the stb.
 
I have tryed some apps on the iphone but as soon as I get near the dish it goes haywire.
