I always told myself I'd upload some pictures of my setup once I'd tidied up the wiring etc. It seems that this will never happen, so here are some pictures of my setup in all its disorganised glory.

Motorized dish is a 1m Gibi XP, at the moment it's pointing at 57E. It doesn't seem to be bothered by the trees and I can see all the way round to 45W (behind the trees). Final picture is the line of the trench for the coax (probably about 15m). The mountains you can see in some of the shots are the Prealps.

The T-90 could do with some rationalization :)

Nice setup HB, I do like the T-90 and I know they perform well, but I bet there a challenge to set up, thanks for sharing :).

I went out and looked for the b****r today but I guess it's still a little cold. The geckos are out in force, though....

It was the first dish I ever set up (well, discounting an episode when I was a student when I thought I could install a Sky dish by strapping it to the chimney with some climbing rope and doing a bit of "left a bit, right a bit") and I didn't find it *that* hard (heavy, though...). My father-in-law made the support - he's pretty handy with an arc-welder. I managed to snap off one of the bolts on the plate though while I was doing them up, so there are only three bolts in there. Considering the force it took to snap the bolt I don't think I'm ever going to get it out :) I've added a few guy cables as well.

The rationale behind buying a T-90 was so that I could get Canalsat (19.2E) and Freesat (28.2E) with the same dish. I have 19.2E at dead centre. Once I'd worked out that the entire dish needed to be skewed it wasn't too hard - once you have two birds lined up the rest are just a matter of placing the LNBs on the bar. The problem of course with the T-90 is that once you've started adding heads it's hard to stop.... :)
 
Damn, I saw the thread title and expected a recipe for a local dessert that included Toblerone.....
 
You could have a big dish with all that land :-)

That is exactly what I thought when saw pictures. There actually forest of dish-poles could be planted :rolleyes:, in different sizes. I just wandering, what is maximum arc Hairybadger you can cover?

70,5E - 45W at present, not sure how much more would be possible. There is a fair amount of land between the house and the fence but our trees (and my wife :) ) prevent much more in the way of dish installation (yes, I own a chainsaw, and no, no and no :) ) .

Well I can see your point HB on keeping the trees and that's nice:). but it would be very easy to make a mount to fix on a tree and a little pruning and you maybe be able to enjoy more channels and have the best of both worlds :).

This is a good point, however I'm not entirely sure how much I enjoy the 8000 or whatever channels it is that I get already. I probably only ever watch a dozen or so :)
