Could you unsieze this one? soak in wd40 or similar for a few days to free off or apply heat to break rust bond (blow torch), then clean up thread with wire brush to assist nut being undone. Once you have it apart you can clean the thread up with a die nut, being a coarse thread it should clean up nicely.

you could try and use ph crack-it it comes in a aerosol tin and it has a freezing solution in it and you leave it for a few minutes then try to take the nut off and 9 times out of 10 it works !!

As a last resort, you could hacksaw down the nut parallel to the bolt, but I'd be surprised if they couldn't be freed off. They don't look that badly siezed.

Most small engineering companies will make you a new one copied from your worn out one.

There doesn't look to be anything damageable nearby so I would give it a liberal dose of heat from a blowtorch and then some oil (copious amounts of smoke!) until it's unsiezed. You might then find that you won't need to replace it (I'm a skinflint you see!) and just coating everything in Waxoyl or even ordinary grease will keep it free.

I sprayed about half a can of wd40 on it and went for a smoke myself while I waited :-)

Still no joy as yet. I will take a trip in to town to see if I can pick anything up.

I was thinking along the same lines.

Thanks for the tip. I have just bought some off ebay. So I will give that a try :-)

This looks salvageable to me ..
As has been suggested already ..
Heat the whole assembly (blowlamp) till smoking then throw Ice cold water on it ..
rinse and repeat several times and I'm 99.9% certain it will free up ..
A cleanup wire brush and repaint almost certainly neccessary afterwards..
good luck.

I will give both ideas a go, when I can get all the other tools :-)
