Might as well have put a sink plunger on the LNB for all that was of any good :-lol
Strange that Llew ..
Gotta be a matching issue ?
The only other feed I've used on the XMW that comes close is my homebrew all copper feed based on the inverto saorsat one..
that was a high point for me ..and so difficult to construct I have never made another..
;)

This is interesting...I had my OMT the other way round to Llew's picture, and have just turned it the way Llew has it, to.......find a 2 dB increase in signal on Newsnet! why that should be I don't know

Hi 'scopus'....interesting read this thread.

¿As I have arrowed on your attached picture, are those clamps readily available (what are they called) or did use make them yourself...........look very useful indeed.

Thanks scopus, enjoy your weekend. respect-048.gif

Hi,

That clamp you have got the arrow on was from some electricians at work, I suspect it's some sort of earth clamp. The guys were doing some 3 Phase work. The rest is all home brew. The clamp holding the C band LNB is a 2.5 inch exhaust clamp from my local tyre and battery depot.
The other clamp hold the Hughes is a Universal TV aerial clamp from Band Q, You would have to go to your TV dealer or the Local DIY shop.:)

Have a nice weekend yourself!

Some similar clamps here John the will do the job with little modification.
15mm pipe clamp - Google Search
I have being trying to locate another for the other side Martin, but unable to find the exact one. The one I have grips really well with having the two bolts. Someone must know what they are called.

Hi,
Thanks to all of you for that......spent the last hour searching myself for the clamps so missed your posts, sorry.

Found these but I think you have covered them yourselves with your finds.

Must say I like the fact that the 'scopus' pic shows the feed arm being held vertically and horizontally and the 'L' shaped extension on the right which I guess would be a better strengthener for the carried load of LNB's!.............will buy as you suggest.

Thanks and sleep well. respect-055.gif

If I was trying to make something similar John i would just add a small gate eye to this then copy Chris with the little flat bar and rod/holder, that would give the pivot needed to make adjustment easy as Chris as done, there are various ways though as long as it works its good :).

Some feeds today with the Hughes LNB, on the Triax 1m. All locked feeds rock solid, never happened with the SL3 LNB.

Funeral feeds are for PC Dave Phillips.

Yes, I don't think it was a Hughes. Would have been interesting to try it.

Anytime Chris.
Interesting you still have the de-polariser on the Hughes, if you take that out you may get a few dB more! I think I will try the oval feedhorn tomorrow to see if it makes any difference on my 9200

I will give that a go in a few days, when I get the time. At the moment I can also get some very strong H ( 18768 H 3110) as a vertical signal, on 19.2E.

Fitted the lnb to the feedhorn today,

And changed, the lnb to the vertical port.

Got Itn now good and strong:-) plus found a load of feeds :-).

Before I moved it from the horizontal position I was able to lock 42E as well.

I just need 1 more of these lnb's.
