Small(ish) dish for camping

Hi

I spend a fair bit of time camping in Northern/middleish france and Western Holland.

I have been taking a zone 2 sky dish with a tripod (tent pegged) mount with me and its been fairly ok. I damaged the dish last time (doesn't stand up to the weight of a car very well). I'm looking to replace it with a standard dish as i found aligning the sky dish an absolute pain in the backside as it moves in so many different ways. Has anyone got any suggestions of what to replace it with. It must be stable on a tent pegged mount so I'm guessing a 60cm dish or has anyone tried an 80? Also i think meshed will be best to reduce wind loading.

Mesh dishes are for C band signals (not suitable for the Ku you require) and are usually very large. What you almost certainly mean are "perforated" dishes - very often incorrectly described by many sellers and others as "mesh". The holes are too small to have any effect on wind loading - try it, put an electric fan on one side and try to even find a slight breeze on the other side. Their only advantage is they are lighter than solid dishes but have the disadvantage of usually being more prone to corrosion unless very well coated.
