Isn't 'fluid gender' just crossdressing?

I was listening to the Nick Ferrari show on LBC this morning and they were talking about 'fluid gender'.

Nick asked this woman what it was. She said: 'If a man who wakes up on Monday, and wants to be Wayne, he can be a man and wear jeans, t shirt, and be unshaven.

If however on Tuesday he wants to be Waynetta, he can shave the beard off, wear make up, a dress, long wig, high heels and stockings. Then he's back to being Wayne on Wednesday. That's what's called having a fluid gender. It's 1% of the UK population.'

Nick asked if the person's sexual preferences changed. She said, 'no'.

This all came about because a few of the high street banks are gonna allow their employees to come into work dressed in trousers one day and a skirt the next. This is the blokes I am talking about.

So this left me thinking, that fluid gender is nothing more or less than crossdressing. Why the fancy name???

Dunno what all the fuss is about - up here you see blokes in skirts all the times - especially at international sports events, weddings & fancy doos - and very smart they look too.
 
It's not an issue oop here in 'Repooblic, either, as we rarely wear anything other than a string vest. Possibly a T-Short ensemble when it gets above 32F. (Topical)

I think it's because they're saying crossdressing is now being gender fluid.

Having done some research, the answer to the original question it appears, is no. Gender fluidity is more to do with transgender issues and whether you think you are male or female rather than transvestism (viz. Eddie Izzard and Grayson Perry).
