hi llew and others, where would i found out about +ve and -ve fitting and what are sleeves ? the parts i bought are too wide (doh)

i have removed the defunct capacitors 2x 10v 3300uf +105'c but maplin no longer stock these and i cannot find any of this shape or make .they look like gasometers on legs and have printed on them JH cd263 and w-8........do i have to get this ytype specifically ? could they have been upgraded...
