Sounds like either the gear has been stripped (no mean feat, TM2600 has all-metal drive) or shattered the drive mechanism, either way a new motor is probably in order.

For what they're capable of you can't be robbed for the price. I much prefer my DM800 but at the end of the day that was 4x the price. They're brilliant bits of kit once you get into them.
