Thanks Turned out to be the old one - you could see "Philips" embossed on the top of the tuner through the case, the remote is really dinky, and there is no screw in the space between the lnb in and lnb out. Tried satellite superstore - good price but out til January, everybody else I tried is...

I am off to buy a DM500S (yippee!), and want to make sure it is the latest revision with the ALPS tuner and bigger remote. Is there an easy way to tell whether I am getting the new-style remote, eg layout, part number, etc? Thanks, Adam

Thanks Sean I want to be able to move the motor and tweak the positions for each satellite, so I want to leave the connection to the motor in place if possible - did you ever try this? Also, did you find it more sensitive than the builtin signal meter on the receiver? Adam

I've bought an SLX Satellite Finder (sight unseen), and want to use it to setup a Diseqc motorised system, but the packaging says it is not for use on motorised. I have a cable from the receiver to the motor, and then a cable from the motor to the LNB on my setup. I can understand that you...
