@ Sat Sergeant - any feedback on your experiments ?
@ Zorba - back then it was being trialled but since then i have heard about a 24hr money back guarantee if it doesn't resolve the issue ... cost is/was €80
just had a call with someone who is out offering a solution to the interference issue which sounds similar to this thread, based on 'deflecting BADR' away from the LNB. Is it really that straight forward, effectively creating a dead spot/zone on the dish?
for the last month or more 24/7 Astra 2D 10773 has been breaking up at best, at worst no signal at all. Just 24 hrs ago (and previous weeks) all 2D channels were either 'no signal' or breaking up heavily between 7pm and 10pm ... but tonight 9pm I am getting very strong signal 10773 and watching...
The '#10773 issue' certainly making that specific frequency notably 'down' against the others all day, just wondering why ALL of 2D drops down for a few hours each evening.
And generally wondering this '2D dip' is my reception gear or a signal thing
the distance from the hole in the centre of the dish to the beginning of the feedhorn thread is about 90cm which i think is the dish manufacturer recommendation, so next step is to consider buying a cylindrical torch to carry out mikie8 suggestion ... bit concerned about putting the lnb back in...
ok so i was checking on/off during the last 2 days and the only theme i can see from (granted) amateur 'quality measurements' is that 2D signal across all H polarity frequencies is stable until 6pm, by 7pm is dropping down, 8+9pm at it the lowest and recovers by 10pm, which considering (a) the...

the invacom ADF-120 is 'supposed' to have a 4mm protrusion on the DH 2.7m but doesn't appear to have had that ?
Apparently 2-3 years back these feedhorns 'solved' a historic Ch4 problem (at the time i just waved Ch4 goodbye as wasn't fussed) when (surprise surprise) BADR signal reportably interfered  i remember reading the thread(s) on here but decided not to invest in 'the fix' at the time.
Due to...

Ran the 'scan' again and checked a few channels, so obvious that 30% just isn't enough but 36% is.
ASTRA 2A South / 12422 / 49% Channel 5 - perfect
ASTRA 2B South / 11954 / 59% BBC News - perfect
ASTRA 2D / 10714 / 40% Channel 4 - perfect
ASTRA 2D / 10773 / 30% BC1 London, Channel 5 - unable...
@ Zorba ... 12148H i get zero signal according to that monitor software and as both my cards are only 'freesatbysky' i wouldn't be able to see anything more than 'subscribe' type message so never bother heading into that part of the EPG. According to Lyngsat that is a 2A North Beam and none of...
yup, circa 10.40pm swiftly lost everything on 2D with 'no satellite signal received' type message on digibox right now Ch4 and BBC1SE are breaking up very heavily but not watch-able. BBC1Lon still nought (as expected).
by 11pm Ch4 and BBC1SE are back crystal clear, BBC1Lon is even giving it a...
