I guess i'll kick Fortec out of the equation then!!! Here's what I would like: HD, USB/internal Hard Drive, network streaming, some kind of sensible EPG, DiSeq control and here's the rub - not expensive!!!!

Does anyone have any opinion on the Fortec passion HD box?

Yeah I actually get Arabsat (MBCChannels and Ethiopian TV) using a Fracaro 85cm motorized dish and a Fortec receiver.

Can anyone out there point me in the right direction regarding a new HD box with recording capability that is reasonably priced. Oh by the way I currently get Arabsat (MBC1,2,Action etc Plus Ethiopian TV) on my existing set-up.

I am managing to get MBC1,2,3,4 and action plus Eritaer and Ethiopia all at levels above 50% quality and I am using an 85cm Fraccaro offset dish with a Silvertech lnb on the end of a diseq motor. Seems to work quite well in the rain etc but gets a bit twitchy in high wind.

Sorry guy's the skew angle info came from a satellite dish alignment site. Anyway thanks for the info, I will tweek for maximum smoke.

Whilst playing with my dish and fine tuning stuff I decided to check Lyngsat website for various bits of info and I have noticed the following. The skew angles for two satellites don't seem to make sense, or at least to me they don't. Can someone explain the following: Astra 1D 23.5 Skew -9.5...

Can somebody please tell me which is the best cable to use from my dish to receiver. The cable run is around 25 mtrs. Oh and whilst I'm on about cable runs does anyone one know what the insertion losses are for an in-line joint?

Hi Rolfw, The LNB that I have at the moment is a Nikkai twin output Universal The specs of which I do not know.

Does anyone have any experience with these (Megasat) LNB's? A signal to noise ratio of 0.1 db seems to be exceptional, and are they really any better in poor weather conditions compared to other LNB's? I'm looking to get the best possible signal/Quality from an 85cm fraccaro dish looking at...

Can someone tell me why and who moves ferquencies around?

Can anyone tell me which is the best LNB to use with a Fraccaro Penta 85 cm dish. I believe that there are cases where the LNB makes the difference between good reception and no reception.
