    LG BH9520TW

That LG has an optical input. So you will be able to get sound in from the Dreambox. However, if you want to connect anything else via optical (or coax for that matter) such as a games console or audio back from a TV then you're out of luck. The going rate for this home cinema kit is around...

    Panasonic DMR-ES20D recording problem.

It's very unlikely that you'd need to format for recording on +R or -R discs, and you'd only need to format rewriteable disc if doing certain types of editing in VR mode. Most of the time for straight recording the machine will format as the recording is made.

    Panasonic DMR-ES20D recording problem.

Of the three Amazon reviews two said that the Tuff discs were useless. That's probably your guide right there.

Asda 40" Full HD 1080p LCD TV cheap!

I'm just having a customer's 50" LG plasma repaired and was talking to the engineer about TV reliability, parts availability and prices. He said he can get bits for most TVs, but the parts that are most expensive are from those cheap Vestel Chinese/Turkish sets. He had a customer come in with a...

    Wired IR remote control extender

Wireless using the general consumer bands around the 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz bands will be unreliable at anything much greater than 15-20m with clear line of sight. Free to air wireless bands aren't that powerful. Cable is your answer. The tri-link system is okay. I installed one for a client this...

    Looking for info - Blu-Ray

It's extremely unlikely that any new player with refuse to play an older legitimate Blu-ray movie. This is a move to prevent pirated BD discs from being played, not legitimate BD discs. There have been issues with certain discs not playing right because of the authoring. These hiccups are...

    Looking for info - Blu-Ray

Not being funny or anything, but it didn't read the way you intended. This is why it made me laugh so much. I still don't see much of a point guessing at features when the manuals are available online. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

    SAMSUNG HT-D5550 5.1Ch 3D Blu-ray Home Cinema System (what blu-ray player)

Honestly, I don't know. Are you really stuck for space and in need of a BD player that also has a Freeview recorder built in?

    Looking for info - Blu-Ray

:-lmao Sorry, but the presence of a LAN socket doesn't automatically mean you get YouTube and stuff. It depends entirely on the feature set enabled on the product. An internet connection with BD players is pretty essential. You don't need to be connected all the time, but occasionally...

    SAMSUNG HT-D5550 5.1Ch 3D Blu-ray Home Cinema System (what blu-ray player)

You are not alone in thinking this way; and that's fine if you're the kind of person who never wants to plug in more than the TV and play a few discs. But as soon as you start to look at connecting other devices then you'd realise what a mistake it was to buy an all-in-one kit. They are just too...

    SAMSUNG HT-D5550 5.1Ch 3D Blu-ray Home Cinema System (what blu-ray player)

It might make a bit of a difference on the blu-ray player, but very little on the audio system to be honest. The discounters are already very aggressive with their pricing, and manufacturer deals only come around when there's a model change. That happens more towards spring/summer than just...

    SAMSUNG HT-D5550 5.1Ch 3D Blu-ray Home Cinema System (what blu-ray player)

I'm afraid there isn't a Samsung product that I can recommend that would meet your needs directly. The home cinema kits all come with an integrated Blu-ray player. But what's worse is the woeful lack of external inputs. Samsung does make an AV Receiver - but only one. There isn't a range so...

anybody with experiences with watchbritishtvabroad or know other suppliers?

If you have a Sky sub then I take it you've had a look at Slingbox? The major caveat for you of course is the need for a PC.

    SAMSUNG HT-D5550 5.1Ch 3D Blu-ray Home Cinema System (what blu-ray player)

The box bit of a home cinema kit that you call a "blu-ray player" isn't that at all. It is an amplifier with a blu-ray drive. A sort of combo device if you like. These aren't available without the speakers. It's a package. However, Blu-ray home cinema kits aren't the only way to get surround...

    Sky+HD box - RF2 output streaking on whites.....faulty box?

Thanks rolfw, I'd need to go back to site to try without the RF input connected. Do you think it could be too much level on the aerial input? The RF channel outputs on the two boxes are well separated. We are running off the Fenton transmitter so I have been careful to avoid frequency clashes.
