Reviving this old thread. Eurobird 1 uses both H and V on the same frequencies. That means that skew is very critical. Don't align on a Eurobird 1 transponder as it gives a false reading on crude meters or STBs when adjusting the skew.

The AFC on some receivers will not pull in a LO frequency that is well off the design value. As a test, try changing the LO freq in your set-up by +/- 5MHz to see if it makes a difference.
