The simplest way to find a DBs IP address is to use the connection page of DCC.
I usually set the search to try 1 to 24 (as my router is set to restrict DHCPs to that range).
Only mentioned it as many DB users will already have and be familiar with DCC - I use it to edit Keys :-) .
I have...
Reviving this old thread.
Eurobird 1 uses both H and V on the same frequencies. That means that skew is very critical. Don't align on a Eurobird 1 transponder as it gives a false reading on crude meters or STBs when adjusting the skew.
The AFC on some receivers will not pull in a LO frequency that is well off the design value.
As a test, try changing the LO freq in your set-up by +/- 5MHz to see if it makes a difference.
Katie never reported back - pity.
First timers [ virgins ;) ] can easily become discouraged. A pity that someone living near to her couldn't do the usual checks like swapping dishes/stb's etc.
Reason for such a delayed post: new PC and lost old links and passwords - all sorted now :).
They have changed the MECM keys (sometimes called the RSAs).
It works on a SS1/2 with updated S0ftc@m file but I guess the EMU and CAM users will have to wait for an edit.
Sometimes they are just placeholders. Sometimes they are interactive stuff but occasionally they are copies of BBC1/2/3 or 4 thus offering the chance to get a stronger signal off 2B..
The answer is most of them. Do a Google on ST5505 or ST5518 and half of China will appear. :)
They are a great family of chips that offer on one chip what used to take 4 or more chips; hence the cheapness of many current STBs.
The Dragon guys have done a great job but I suspect the Isleworth control freaks are trying to combat it at this very moment. A second hand Digibox on 3bay would be a better long-term bet.
You need to state which Comag you have. The FTA2CI and the SL55 can both be patched with unofficial software that allows a few encrypted channels to be watched. I think there is a patch for the Porty1 but there isn't a patch for the Porty2 - - - yet :)
On the downside it is labour intensive as...
As well as LNB rotation you also need to try moving it fore/aft in its clamp once you have got a signal. That alters the "focus" and can give great benefits in signal level and quality. Once it is optimised, make some lines with a marker pen so that it is easy to position it again if the kit is...
ProgDVB whilst being my favourite has had some dodgy official releases. 4.07 seems to be the most stable and is best for scanning channels. 4.38 wouldn't record properly but 4.39.6 seems quite good all round.
AOL (who have accused this site of spamming) need to get their own act in order.
I am an AOL user (moved from CS2000 as that was taken over by them).
Found I was getting oodles of spam. Set up an all new account and that was spammed within days. Now that is weird.
It now transpires that some...
Have you looked in the Yankse monitor window. It should show if it is doing anything.
It needs to be set "Active".
or alternatively use this Yankse.ini data to edit yours (when Prog is not running)
