    Sky+ question

Thank you very much for your reply barrie.lamb. We already have the LNB with 4 cable sockets, two of which are used (multi-room), all I to get is the double coax cable, which is new to me, I didn't know there was such a thing. I was delighted that you made no mention of a seperate subscription...

    Sky+ question

Hi All. With numerous adverts lately about Sky+ for €24.50 a while ago and more recently for €49.00 for new customers, existing customers are excluded from these offers and have to pay the full price despite our loyalty to Sky for the past godknows how many years. My wife even phoned Sky in...

Setting elevation with no useable scale

Hi Severn. My advise as a quick and easy way to align your dish is to set up a tv set so that you can see it from your dish, use your compass to find due south and point the dish in that genera direction without tightening any of the bolts too tightly, tune the receiver to a known channel, set...

Do I have a Diseqc motor or a Satellite receiver problem

I have a problem, but I don't know whether the problem lies with my 2week old Diseqc motor (I had the same problem with the old motor), or with my Silvercrest satellite receiver, or could it just be something I'm doing wrong. I have quite a few satelite positions saved on my system, from 53...

    Diseqc motor repair info please

Many many thanksto everyone who answered my question, however, being the lazy sod that I am, and bearing in mind I was missing my motorised satellite viewing, I took the easy option and bought a new diseqc dish motor on Ebay. My intention is to take my time, get the old motor fixed just in case...

    Diseqc motor repair info please

Thanks for the pic's Pedro. The last two photo's, on the right, are almost identical and are, as far as I can remember, the closest to my broken motor.

    Diseqc motor repair info please

Hi SST12 The PCB is, as far as I could make out, held in place by the LNB socket and the Reciever socket, sticking through holes in the metel outer casing, and being held there by locking nuts on the shafts of the sockets.

    Diseqc motor repair info please

Thanks for the very quick reply pedro2000uk. Unfortunetely I can't remember the make or model of the motor, and I won't get access to them until Tuesday when I get home, but as far as I can see, most if not all of these motors are almost identical, slight cosmetic differences only.

    Diseqc motor repair info please

I bought a diseqc dish motor under a year ago, from a dealer in the USA on Ebay, now its broken, but it will probably cost me an arm and a leg posting it back and to cover the postage to have it sent back to me, as I unfortunetely violated the warrenty by opening the unit. What I really want to...

I need help! err with my satellite system.

Thank you everyone for helping me, it seems I would have been wasting my money going for a polar mount and going outside everytime I wanted to manually move the dish so I could look at a different satellite. You've convinced me, I'm going to buy a DiSEqC Motek SG2100 motor. I have the wall...

I need help! err with my satellite system.

A very big thank you to everyone who replied, it seems the more I get into this subject, the more I'm confused. This DiSEqC business is all new technology, I mean it didn't exist when I last had a satellite system some 10 years ago. If I were to buy a DiSEqC Motek SG2100 motor (there's one on...

I need help! err with my satellite system.

Hello everybody. This is my first post on this forum so go easy on me if this question has been asked before. A few days ago (Monday July 7th) I purchased a Silvercrest digital satellite tv system from Lidl, it works a treat, but as I had a motorised analogue system many years ago, which I...
