Astra 2F: Central & East Europe Discussion

The reception has been poor in this area since start of March. Unfortunately SES changed something to the worse.

Astra 2F: Canaries & Africa Discussion

SES changed the footprints for the Astra 2E. According to this, the Canaries will be in the 90cm area of the europe beam. sat.ses.com/webservice/images/12494336

Astra 2F: European Beam Transfers Starting?

I'm sorry. I haven`t seen this and also haven't expected this. So, Astra 2F remains the most probable satellite for Sky News UK.

Astra 2F: European Beam Transfers Starting?

Me again :) If the company Astra is owned by SES, why should they not give the correct information about their channels? According to them, Sky News UK is now on Astra 1N http://www.onastra.co.uk/244331/channelfinder/tv/show/16310-Sky-News-UK

Astra 2F: European Beam Transfers Starting?

I think it is just a matter of dish size. There are many reports from Stockholm in the "The Astra 2 Forum".

Astra 2F: European Beam Transfers Starting?

Yes, it is. In this document from SES at page 3 you can see the fleet of satellites as expected of 2015. At 19.2° E will be Astra 1KR, 1L, 1M, 1N and 2B and at 28.2° E Astra 2A, 2C, 2F, 2E and 2G.

Astra 2F: European Beam Transfers Starting?

This seems really very strange to me, because if 2F is not part of the current moves, SES could have done the migration last year already and Astra 2B would be now at the final position 19,2° e. Anyway, I hope you are right. So there is still hope for you guys on the Canaries. SES predicted a...

Astra 2F: European Beam Transfers Starting?

Without official information from SES we cannot be sure. Nobody here really knows, that they haven't migrated to 2F. It is only a guess because of the situation on the canary islands. Next year, when there are Astra 2E, 2F and 2G at 28,2°, nobody can tell any more which satellite operates a...

... or to Astra 1N PE1. We cannot be sure yet :-)

Astra 2F: European Beam Transfers Starting?

Are you sure of this? http://i49.tinypic.com/akbfwx.jpg Personally, I think the signal is too weak for the 1N in my location.

Astra 2F: European Beam Transfers Starting?

If I compare the footprints of 2F Europe and 1N PE1 in your location, I cannot see the reason, why the transponders shouldn`t be moved to 2F.

Astra 2F: European Beam Transfers Starting?

In your location the 2F PE-Beam looks exactly like the 1N PE1-Beam. So it could also be 2F PE.
