    Advice please.. Fortecstar or mvision...

It came yesterday - I've just disconnected the lnb feed to the Echostar and put it into the Innovation- no problems at all, don't have to switch anything on or off!!! I'll hold off buying a V-Box controller for now.

    Advice please.. Fortecstar or mvision...

Thanks again Bamber... 1. Yep, understand that, though the positioner in the Echostar has always been spot on. If any slight 'nudging' of the dish is necessary, I could use the split screen feature on the TV to view both at the same time. Not ideal, I know but I had to do that when I got my...

    Advice please.. Fortecstar or mvision...

Thanks Bamber.. I've just ordered the 'Innovation' from Maplins which is almost identical to the 'Passion +' but with additional CAM interface. The way I was thinking of intigrating this into my system was to disconnect the LNB from the echostar altogether and just leave that as 'Dumb'...

    Advice please.. Fortecstar or mvision...

Thanks for that Robbo- to be honest, when I was trawling through the forums this morning I came across the Technomate receivers- they seem to offer the same as the MVision looking at the spec sheet, but if you are familiar with both, what would be the advantages of one over the other? I was...

    Advice please.. Fortecstar or mvision...

Hi.. been away from here for WAAY too long, so I hope I'm posting this in the right place!! OK, I'm running an Echostar 3000IP VIA and a SKYSTAR2 PCI card off a dual LNB. I've been holiding off updating the Echostar until HD came down in price and also added PVR functionality.. it seems that...

    Thoughts on Manhattan Receivers?

To give an alternate view, I much prefer the Manhattan to the Echostar 3000. The positioner is at least as accurate, but I really hate the software in the Echostars, extremely cluttered-too many button presses to get to where you want to go-the Manhattans have a very simple, ordered menu...

    Manhattan Starlight 6900/STB Editor Problem

Someone checked the file I was downloading from the STB and it wouldn't open on their STB Editor- he did send me his own file-which, of course, opened PERFECTLY in mine, so what the problem is, God alone knows!! I got around it by updating his transponders with the ones from Satcodx, then I...

    problem with manhattan starlight 6900

Yes, I know it was a hardware problem, if you read my message again,I said once you've had the problem solved AND had the software upgraded, they claim the problem cannot recur.

    Thoughts on Manhattan Receivers?

Must admit, I like Manhattan's receivers- I go back to analogue days with them too (Had one of the first affordable low threshold receivers of theirs), and I've always found them ok-I'm currently on a Starlight 6900 which, apart form the one time return for the fault that seems to have afflicted...

    Manhattan Starlight 6900/STB Editor Problem

Just an update on the above - I found the STB Editor V2 , and it is slightly different to the one on the Manhattan site- but sadly, the same problem, expect that the file does actually load into the editor - it gives a check on the number of channels, sats and transponders, but when you try to...

    Manhattan Starlight 6900/STB Editor Problem

Had the receiver a couple of years now- it got the dreaded NOCH problem shortly after it was new, but it was fixed quickly and has worked flawlessly ever since. I've kept manually updating the transponder lists and re-scanning every couple of months to keep everythign up to date. However, at...

    Manhattan editor d/l problem

Realise this thread is a bit on the old side now, but I too am having problems with STB Editor V1.03 off the Manhattan website- I can download the file from the box using the STB>PC button..I can fire it back using PC>STB button, but when I try to open the downloaded file in the editor, it goes...

    problem with manhattan starlight 6900

It's a bit odd that you've had to have the same receiver done more than once because Manhattan say that once the problem has been fixed and their most up to date S/w has been installed (They do both when the box is returned), it prevents the problem recurring. I had this happen to me over a...

    STB Editor For Manhattan Starlight

Yes to all of that-Masnhattan have now indicated that it 'could' be a fault in the flash memory (which they replaced last year after it developed the constant boot problem), and it's been fine since, so I really don't see how it could be that

    Updating Strong SRT4375

Thanks-an interesting thred indeed, though I know for a fact we are using a fully wired Null Modem Cable, as I tried the cable I use to update my Nokia and Manhattan boxes. Does nobody know whether Strong are still offering OTA updates?
