I don't think cccam will activate the card, I activated mine using mgcamd then switch back to cccam if you need to..

so is dvbapi already built into oscam and you activate it in oscam.conf?

can someone explain what DVD-API is/does as I am also running oscam into cccam and having to start the cams manually every morning so cccam doesn't grab the card first. I assume from what i've read that it takes the place of cccam but not sure past that

Do you have another receiver you could use to see if there is a signal there? Or maybe try your box on a neighbors dish. This way you could rule out the receiver. If it's not the receiver then it's probably the LNB or cable

I would recommend a linux box. They are easy to set up for free channels but get a lot more complicated if you want to customize them. You can use almost any card you like in them and there is loads of help on this forum. Linux is a steep learning curve but worth the effort. I wouldn't have any...

I use the viaccess card and I got mine from ebay and never had a problem. It might take some time to activate the card but the dealer should do this for you. The only thing I would say about jsc is that the picture quality isn't always as good as the European broadcasters but was great coverage...
