Finally decided to leave satellite TV behind after 20 years of playing.
(Sorry Ross and others!).
More into listening to internet and DAB radio, etc and only watch Freeview and the Beeb now.
So - have my Samsung 9500 on offer, with latest EMU firmware in (will be updated to the latest on...
Pacific/Schneider 28" Television - Widescreen (it's a telly with a tube and not a panel!), Stereo, 2 SCARTs plus phono inputs, Teletext and also a PACE Freeview adaptor included and Pine-effect Argos stand.
£75 collect from Stoke on Trent.

Looks good - I always like the look of ground-mounted systems - leaves you a wall to put another dish on without anyone saying "why two?" or officials coming down on you with any 'one dish' rules.
Should imagine it gets a good look at the birds too, even with the fencing around it.

12v A/B relay/changeover wanted - I think Global made them - took the 12v output from your receiver and selected one of two inputs. Could do it DISECQ but already using that for 19.2/13E on a dual lnb.
Can you help - saves me having to swap cables for 28.8 every now and again and don't want a...
I set up an 80cm once outside a marquee pointing at 19E for a conference so they could watch Bloomberg (was a banking group) - that was using scaffold base/foot plate, screwed into a piece of thick chipboard. Scaffold pole went into the base and dish fastened to that. All weighted down with bags...
Well mate - I schedule any addition to the exterior of the house when the wife is not home - so she comes in to find new amateur radio aerials up, dish changes, wires strung in the yard, etc.
I endure a few moments of complaints, then get tea prepared... and I'm home and dry!

You'll soon have a few others in place - I did it with my amateur radio aerials - started with 1 on the chimney, now have 5 up there with no complaints.
Two more going in the garden. No complaints so far so will slowly add more over time, same with my dishes - have a 90cm for 28.8E, 19.2E and...
...and it's working fine too thanks guys - just typical though - Radio amateur who buys a house on one of the highest hills in the city and gets amazing coverage on the amateur bands - only to discover the rear of the house is pretty much due East and hopeless for mounting satellite dishes -...
Well - after it has taken me ages to get my backside into gear, here are two images of my outside setup here in Stoke on Trent;
First one is 'almost' finished job - before I realised I'd left a clump of coax fastened to the wall mount (Sky installer's excess!).
OH - NOTE THE GRAY RAWLPLUGS...
Looks good Ross no matter how you fixed it - as long as it works!
I remember replacing a friends single output LNB for a dual one and lost one of the nuts and bolts and put a cable tie in place to just secure it - then forgot about it.
Still in place now - even after he sold the house!

You can mount one low down if he won't allow you to wall mount - as long as it can see the sky - I use one that lays on the ground when in our motorhome and have made a simple mount for it - so why not try that?
Thanks rolfw - good to see a familiar name from here and other places.
I can easily find a spare dish, or two, so might put them up as cheap options rather than go motorised. Wonder if I can get anything from 5E on a sky sized dish?
Leigh.....
Simple questions really - I'll soon be getting a clearer view of the horizon (currently restricted to 28.2 to 10W due to tree and housing) as I'll be chopping a tree down and relocating the dish.
Where should I be concentrating with the dish? It's a 90cm with A/B switch but will probably go...
Well - seems it's nothing new - I'll probably keep my Freesat card in the receiver but take a feed from my son's room and and put one of the £20 Freeview boxes in from the supermarket.
Only really want the Sky box for BigL and Caroline.
