Freesat on a PACE DS445NB SKY box

I recently acquired a spare sky box which I intend to instal in the bedroom. On checking channels list I find that the following channels are missing from the list (in TV GUIDE ) mode:- five, fiver.five usa,fiver+1,five usa+1, (sky3 is listed) I get all other programmes ok. My question is,when I...

    default transponder on sky

It would appear there is a problem with this box. Looks like purchasing a replacement,as nothing I've tried will rectify the fault.

    default transponder on sky

I'll try this later and report back. I've put my old grundig back at present,I'll try it out on that first.

    default transponder on sky

Had a quick look as suggested, cannot see anything visually amiss. P.S. I'm a retired electrical engr,so I'm able to recognise the components you suggested. Incidentally, when signal is present,It's easily 90% on both strength and quality, sometimes it's just the quality that disappears,sometimes...

    default transponder on sky

When I observe the "signal strength" or default transponder it shows NO strength or quality,if I observe it a while it appears to come and go at random, yet if I put in ,say,12207v/27500/2/3 it will show strength/quality immediately and stay on,but if I use it as the default transponder as soon...

    default transponder on sky

I have 2 sky boxes, one an old Grundig which works fine, default transponder 11778v/27500/2/3. The other is a Thomson, and persistantly loses the default transponder 11778v/27500/2/3. I know the cabling/lnb are ok as I've tried the box on another dish system, and the fault still persists. My...

    Sky freesat viewing cards

At present I receive all freesat channels via my freesat viewing card. (the one dark blue with the little house on it),all ok. I do have another sky box which I would like to install in my bedroom, and I was given a couple of "old" sky cards which I thought after leaving them in the box for a...

    Currys misleading Freesat installation

cjgall, I think you are absolutely right. An official freesat box is essential, you only have to look at how "sky" perform they are continually updating. If you have a what I would term a "bog standard" satellite reciever(make immaterial) it doesn't recieve updates. It would appear this is...

    UK Freesat closer to launch

I'm a little ignorant to the proposed "freesat",can someone enlighten me? At present I use a Sky box with Freesat card (the card with the little house on it) which I acquired a few years ago "free" from the BBC. My questions are:- Will I get Channels 4 & 5,sky 3,without the use of a "card" Will...

    Suspect LNB?

I have a motorised satellite system, which until today was working fine. I now find that I have lost all "vertical" transponder signals, whilst "horizontal" signals still seem O.K. allbeit signal strengths seem to now appear lower than before.Am I right in assuming It's the LNB?
