    Amstrad DRX895

Hi all, My Pace sky+ has finally fried after many years of faithful service, so I need to splash out and get a new box. Am considering their top end one Amstrad drx 895 with 1.5tb of space (1tb of recording memory)....has anyone any experience of this in the fringes? As of now, here in...

    switching between dishes?

Thanks Rick and Satman. So with a quad and a dieseqc this would get a signal from two diff dishes down the wires...I assume then that I would need a splitter in the room with the two different receivers (as one would be s*y and the second another provider, N)? I assume that only one receiver...

    switching between dishes?

Hi all, I have a 2m dish on my roof from which I have four cables running from the quad LNB to a distributor in the basement which then sends the signal to different rooms in the house. This works for S*Y I would like to get a small dish for a local sat tv service, but don't want/can't run any...

    channel 5 in warsaw

Hi all, a friend has just got his new sky card from a different part of UK (sorry for poor grasp of geography, I think the new card is Anglia as opposed to london before) and as a result he is no longer able to receive channel 5 here in Warsaw. Can you please advise the frequencies for ch 5...

    New Card

I finally got the dreaded message today that I need to insert my new card. Long story, but I don't have access to it (for now). Having looked at the s*y website, it suggests that I can keep my existing card but that I will lose (gradually) access to certain channels, the list of which is...

picture freezing on sky+ box, all channels

uk sky card versus irish sky card, fringe

thks. yes, there is a cost differential, but my switch is driven by the new sly cards which are currently being rolled out, and as I no longer have access to my original uk address, I need to use a family member in ireland. cheers

picture freezing on sky+ box, all channels

In Warsaw...lately all channels freeze a few seconds after switching to them....sometimes it unfreezes, sometimes I have to press pause and wait a few seconds before hitting play. Usually the problem on any one channel eases after 10 mins or so. But its a royal pain in the a*&... It seems to be...

uk sky card versus irish sky card, fringe

Does anyone know whether RTE is like BBc1 or BBC 2? In warsaw, I can typically pick up some regional variations of BBC1 on a 2m dish, but never BBC2. ITV gets dodgy in the evenings. Does anyone have experience of receiving RTE? Is it as strong as BBC1? Thanks

uk sky card versus irish sky card, fringe

Denis1501, thank you. I am in Warsaw, Poland. Do all the sports channels behave the same way? I thought I read sth about the irish sky sports channels not being available in the fringe. Cheers

uk sky card versus irish sky card, fringe

I am considering switching to an Irish card from an english (london) card. Could someone please direct me to info as to whether the availability of the channels via an irish card is any different to that of an english card. Thanks

    C4 now stopped in Poland

analoguesat, thanks. here's where i show my ignorance: when adding channels, there's a FEC thingy and 22.5 v 27.5 thingy - what do i input when searching for those channels you highlighted above in your link? feel free to laugh!:):)

    C4 now stopped in Poland

Warpol, FYI: I am based in Warsaw with a 1.8x2.05 dish, standard S*y + box no channel 4, channel 4+1 seems dodgy late night (although I need to recheck this), no BBC2/3/4, but regional BBC1s available. iTV okay but not early mornings. no c4 movies either now. slingbox looking more attractive by...

    distributing video around a house

Rolf, thanks. Could the same be achieved using a powerline adapter such as Netgear's rather than laying new ethernet ?
