Thanks again for your help most appreciated. Made some progress - good quality playback of MPEG4 now using core AVC - settled on 1.2. Still no joy with the streaming. Am experimenting with different options - though there are a lot!
Daftgrab now throws out this message - I wonder if the problem...
Thanks mhku - good point.
Their site has been out of action for a few weeks; some problem with version 1.3 it seems according to their forum. I bought an earlier version but lost it in a PC upgrade. Will wait and see ...
Thanks witchy2k1
Sorry to hear that you're not getting great results.
Can you run through how you have things set up right now. As you will see from my OP - I haven't even managed to get as far as you yet!
Cheers mate

Thanks guys - appreciate the fast response.
I got a new core 2 duo recently with a good graphics card - I live in hope it's good enough mhku!
Found draftgrab etc. and installed - also found the BBC HD service amongst the data stuff. Thanks for those.
Daftgrab worked find on SD services - but...
Hi Redmart
I haven't had that problem ever and am using VLC successfully to do the same as yourself.
A couple of suggestions - upgrade to the latest vlc 0.8.6 and remove all previous preferences etc. on the installation
Make sure nothing else is running in the background on the PC that might...
Hi guys
I've got the FTA streaming from my DM500s (with Gemini 3.20maxvar) to PC working well now - using webxtv and vlc
Can anyone tell me if I can get the same results with BBC HD, please? At the moment - I can't even find the BBC HD channel on the DM500 listings. Assuming I could find it -...
You guys will know the Pringle can trick then (if not just google for Pringle can wifi). You can also use a USB plug in wifi antenna. Put it at the focal point of a wire mesh noodle strainer as cheap effect parabolic reflector
(I kid you not!)
Hi newgen2005 - the 500si is the same as the 500s but come with a card for one of the exotic services (inxtv I think) for a few months
The 500s is a great little box with endless scope for experimenting and adding extras. The SS2 is definitely a more sensitive receiver though - if you want to...
Hmmm - no offence to Rolf but I think you would get it - as RTE is in all the Ireland packages N and S. It's one of the classic ways for a UK subscriber to get to see the hurling! If it isn't heresy then can I suggest to take a look on www. boards. ie - it's a fairly regular question there...
Hi there again - good to see that you are getting into things
Gemini is an 'adapted' or what have you version of the original. If you reboot the whole system you should see the GP logo come up on your TV screen at the start - if so (and it works OK) then you have Gemini 3.2
Best of luck

I'm not really answering your questions but thought that you would like to know that I got great results with that kit from Maplin in Cork, Ireland on all the satellites you mentioned - even from behind glass (though it was in good weather). It is a better made dish (resin I think) than the...
Well done; great feeling isn't it?
Gemini is definitely 'better' than the original; mostly in the communications area and in the addons, scripts, cams and plugins you can download directly and install easily. You won't need your PC for most of these as Gemini will do it for you now you are...
