Both are only estimated position based on the last issued Celstrak TLE. The TLE does not take into account any housekeeping that may have occured since the TLE was created.
From the SES COB information (issued today at approx 18:50) which is more accurate :
Astra 2F 28.19
Astra 2E...
If I remember correctly they mentioned Astra 2G was operational when at 21.5E ; they seem to have forgotten it has moved around since then, but SES seem to not mention when they move it to it's testing/real locations, is there a secret they are not telling us ;).
Given the "dodgy" announcements...
I think my dish must be slightly misaligned as the BBC signals come in stronger than 2F signals like 4HD 4Seven, I get 80% signal strenhth for BBC1/2HD and only 75% for CH4HD ; quality is similar 90-100 on my 2.2M (Albatera). As signals are good not currently tempted to make any changes.
Well the query is now with the Freesat Tech team to answer, wonder how long it will take them to answer. Humax were not interested said it's a Freesat problem (infers they are not updating firmware to fix it).
I think they have to confirm the Freesat Home Transponder can be transfered to Astra 2e/2f/ without any issues, not yet convinced on that. If the frqeuency has to change then may be more complicated for Freesat boxes that as far as I can tell can't change their Home (default) Transponder unlike...
On the Costa Blanca the situation is much improved over 2D, we only got some channels part day on dishes 1.9M to 2.2M, now we have them stronger and 24 hours on as little as 1.4M, 1M- 1.2M (depending on location) seems on a par with the old 2D (horizontal more difficult to get). The further...
Good news here on the Costa Blanca South on a 2.2m Pasat, BBC transponders look to be about 5% lower in signal strength than 1N, and upto 5% lower in quality, slightly lower than 2F. More details later. Plan B not needed! When i get a chance I will set up the 1M dish and see any 2E/2F spot...
Fingers crossed for the morning, will check when I wake up, if it's bad I'll let the missus sleep in while I think of a plan B for Corrie & E'nders etc. At least I have few hours to put together a solution from the various computer components I have in the cupboard in the garage.
Lyngsat do indeed get updates direct from the SES operations centre, plus Onastra use the info to update their site. However as this is currently a moving target, I rather suspect Lyngsat are not going to rush into an update until there is stability.
Tend to agree the info on Flysat, and KoS is...
