I know its a bit of a compromise, I've got some T and Ks but I'm trying to hide the pole behind a drain and keep it as aesthetic as possible! Hopefully this 1.5" diameter pole won't be as wobby as the 1.25" raven is at the moment when I get the dish on it, although the gauge of the metal is...
Thats where I got the idea for the brackets from. They're actually from two U poles.
I've one of those Raven cranked masts that this will replace. Only being 1.25" diameter its rather wobbly vertically.
I was wondering what spacing I should leave between the two brackets? I don't know whether I should take an angle grinder to the bottom and put them closeish together or have the brackets at the extremes. I'm mounting a 68cm Funke.
Its 24" bottom, 14" top, 1.5" diameter
Thanks!
Moderation Note...
23% more gain is quite a lot.
I think I'll go for the 90cm dish Raven. I don't want to set it up and find I can only get 40% or so signal and have to go through the process of a mail order return and refund.
Thanks to rolfw and Phil for helping me decide.
3 LNBs including one for 28.8E into a DiSEqC then into a Manhattan Plaza ST350. LNB loopthrough into a sky box. Then with LNB power on sky box off would I be able to see 28.2E on the Sky box?
I'm not sure how to understand gain but I've found the gain for the visiosat at 11.3 Ghz to be 37.5dB and the raven to be 38.4dB. Is 0.9dB a large or small amount?
thanks rolfw!
I've read a 70cm dish isn't suitable for my location for the 3 sats. From what I undersatand the 75cm Bisat has significantly more gain due to its shape and precision manufacturing. Is that right?
I want a dish with 3 LNBs to recieve 13, 19.2 and 28.2 degrees E near Sheffield. Should I go for a Raven Gemini 90cm or triax 88cm? Would the Raven be better because its elliptical?
Thanks for the reply.
I should have mentioned I've been reading the forums for around 5 hours over the past 3 days and have used the search function 10s of times. This is what my eyes feel like :-wow
Question 4 relates to the use of the card with a dragon cam BTW.
I am looking into buying a patched technomate 1500 to use with 13deg, 19.2deg and 28.2deg east after reading so many recommendations. I have a few questions first though.
1. Would the Dragon CAM 4.1 be compatable with this box? I read here someone had a problem with it with this Technomate...
