    Astra 2E: Western Europe Reports

TonyWhalley - last 4 columns all in the same conditions - clear blue sky this morning. there are some "wierd" variations and this might be due to the way sampling is done i.e. spot figure rather than an average over a time period. Conventional LNBs max out at 1.2m dishes so really the practical...

    Astra 2E: Western Europe Reports

Attached is file of data comparing 1.0 with 1.2 with 1.5m dishes in rain and clear skies. The 1.0 is a Casto special the 1.2 and 1.5 are Gilbertini’s. LNBs are Technomate, the 1.5 was tried with conventional LNB then I switched in Black Ultra with Raven Feedhorn. The mouldings on the outside of...

1.0m dish not doing it tonight on BBC1 East or BB2 wales whilst it was last night, clear sky so I think signal from 2E a bit weaker

    Astra 2E: Western Europe Reports

Om 1m dish BBC still watchable, occasionally the sound breaks up, the receiver box suggests similar signals to Channel 5 i.e. 2F. Putting the meter on the cable I get lock on Channel 5 but no lock on BBC1. So suggestion of slightly weaker signal from 2E. Moving to the 1.2 m dish with Sat meter I...

Advice Needed Expert help needed. Totally stumped!

With two installers setting it up I suspect not a signal issue. Does the Samsung do a blind scan? if not its database of Transponder frequencies might be a bit out of date and mean it is not finding stuff. Have you checked the transponder frequencies for the missing channels on something like...

Signal problem re UK tv in South of France - Dec 2013

I too have a 1m dish, all be it rather ancient, installed for the 1N panic many years ago. With current signal strength from 2F I have no problems when it rains at a rate of 5mm/hr - rate according to my weather station. What I have also found make a difference is wiping the face of the LNB to...

Signal problem re UK tv in South of France - Dec 2013

If you have some channels and they "lighten up" then it suggests the problem is more to do with the box. The suggestion of a fresh install is probably the route to follow to start with.

Signal problem re UK tv in South of France - Dec 2013

Nothing has changed dramatically in terms of the signal being beamed to SofF, I am in Grasse. So the problem is likely to be local. there were some very strong winds about 3 weeks ago so the dish might have moved. But check all the wiring connections to make sure they are all good. Also turn the...

    Astra 2F: Western Europe Discussion

    Astra 2F: Western Europe Discussion

As per the expectation the 4 transponders mentioned for move last night (10964/10994/11053/11126 have weaker signals here, Grasse south of France, compared to yesterday. Signal strength is comparable to that for the test transfer a couple of weeks ago and 8911 reception. So still strong enough...
