What's your experience with them? I'm more a vodka or spiced rum man personally but I enjoy an lager in the summer etc, this Russian number was nice, quite sweet tasting: IMG_20170217_190804.jpg

I like the genuine foreign lagers (not the stuff thats made in the UK using a brand name - next time you are in the supermarket check out where the "authentic" Indian Kingfisher lager is brewed..... They tend to be a bit sweeter than UK stuff. UK brewed lagers also have too much CO2 pumped into them, and can be a couple of percentage ABV points weaker than the genuine equivalents.

When Im abroad I always drink the local stuff - and if I can find a dark lager Im a happy chap. Ive found gorgeous dark lagers in Slovenia, Montenegro, Copenhagen, Bertesgaden & Prague :)

I travel to Belgium most years and will drink the Chimay monastery beer by default and will drink lager if I am in a foreign bar with nothing else (Czech Republic for example)

In France however there is the option of Pelforth Brune in most places so I choose that.

Wheat beer is OK in small doses.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
When abroad, I find out what the locals drink, and then do the same - usually better than the imported stuff and cheaper.

I know mate, always check they are genuinely imported, that Russian one was from St Petersburg after that I tried that Bavarian, sweet and very easy drinking, no bitterness that I don't like, at a christening just now and drinking the local p*ss that is Tenants, its actually not that bad draught and served cold.

I don't like the idea of a mint flavored drink, to me it would be like drinking mouthwash

Ah yes, from the late great Dave Allen, followed up with "No wonder they carry him around in a chair." :)

And, purely by coincidence mind, I fould our local corner shop now sells Oranjeboom in a can.

It used to be a lager sufficiently different that I would order one whenever I was in Amsterdam, but so few bars sell the stuff these days

( I also delivered the final artwork/video for the brand when I was a despatch rider in the mid 80's).

This particular red/black can is a 7.5% so not like the draught version for potency, is labelled 'imported medium/1761' on the side, but it does not say where it is brewed.

Will report back later, once dinner has been consumed.

Yes, but many of them aren't 'strictly' lagers, are they.
