TurkSat 4A/3A@ 42 East

Can anyone confirm that 11977H is really using Turkey-beam? On mornings its about 5.5 dB here and now later about 4.5 dB. No lock because of FEC 5/6 but footprint says "non Finland friendly". Nothing from other frequencies listed as Turkey-beam.

hi Kveys
no signal at all for me here on that t.p.

Not much of a chase these, locking them in overcast conditions.

i think your position further south and east makes a lot of difference on the turk east beams
i recall a couple of years back - some one on the yorkshire east coast used to equal my 1.8 results on turk east beams with a 1.2 dish:eek:

can you lock either of the two promo transponders on turksat 2A

11746 H 27500
12123 H 15000
i can see some signal but nowhere near a lock

It could be (11977H) merked under wrong beam in Lyngsat/Flysat? If it´s really using 4A east-beam not Turkey? About same strenght as other east frequencies. Strongest 12054H watchable 6.5-7 dB but other east freqs are 5-6 dB.
Anyway even 4A east beam footprint says that no chance here under 300cm dish (satbeamsdotcom) but 125 Gibby working well though. Clearly stronger in the mornings.

That sounds the most likely answer ...
you are lucky then to get signals from 4A east beam :)
no hint of signal here of any 4A east beam transponders on 1.8 c.m. for me here

I get nothing on 11746, I will recheck conditions are still the same as my screen shot. 12123 is booming in, this box is not generous with %

nice one .... :)

11746 H 27500 is only a flicker here up to 1.5 db
12123 H 15000 is a decent - ish 5.8 db but no lock .

Ok nelson, any suggestions were to go next pal ?, I cant wait to join you with C band :)

Non i can think of right now l.o.l. :)
i,m a bit out of date on all the k/u side of things ... due to spending most of my spare time this past 18 months walking/scrambling the mountains and fells in the Lake district-- and similar on the Isle of Skye ..... managed a bit of C band searching in between though :)
C band.s not so weather dependent so could play with that a little .. when i wasn,t out walking/scrambling ... l.o.l.
I think you will enjoy C band .. ;)

Thank you nelson, I am sure I will find something, I need to spend more time with my other hobby, metal detecting ive been out today :) I must push myself more and get out, really enjoyed my day today out in the country walking and digging wildlife and a good way to keep fit as well :).

This scans in as radio nelson, I guess the box does not recognise it with it being HEVC ?.

cheers -- yes i,m locking this one now at around 8 d.b. . and it scanned in as radio on the F15 too .. dish wasn,t quite spot on .. needed a little nudge ..:)
no joy on the other t.p though -- occasional flickers up to 2 d.b. now

ok - edit again .... the pic is the first hint of signal i,v seen from turksat 4A East beam .... i was checking the transponders that @Kveys posted

Ok @martin-f i,v corrected the previous post now

Great stuff :) we will have to keep an eye on the other, a fair few feeds turn up here :).

yes -- 11746 H 27500 has picked up strength throughout the evening despite some thin cloud cover

I was once watching a boxing feed @ 24.5W, it was late one night and good conditions, the feeds was giving me a signal of around 50%, but it kept going down to 0% I could not understand why at first, it was what I call dust clouds, them really thin clouds you can see the moon through lol, it learnt me lots about chasing weak signals and how the slightest thin cloud can knock a good signal to 0 that's my most extreme fringe DX to date:)

Western Finland 11746H, 11977H, 12015H now. 12123H is not possible.
