1.8m Channel Master c/w Polar mount

Bargain!

ebay: 111570451248

Yes, it is a bargain, the seller is selling it too cheap.
I recently sold one with the Az/El head for £650. This one is ultra cheap at £450 with the polar head. I might buy this myself at the buy it now price, it seems too good to be true.

I think I will send a message to the seller asking what sort of deal can be done for cash, £400 would be a real bargain.

Yes I spotted that Paul and edited my post, it will probably end up cheaper to the uk but they are only showing items up to 1mtr.

I had a few photos sent to me by the seller. The dish is a bit tatty to be honest, though being a Channel Master, it wouldn't affect performance. I still think it's on the expensive side, even with the polar mount and the stand. I have a very heavy duty PM that I got for nothing which can easily be modified to accommodate a 1.8m CM. Just, to me personally, it's not worth that much. But.... I do appreciate that the rareness and the extortionate buy-new-from-SSS price does make it a bit of a bargain.

And if you're a bit handy with DIY, you can just make your own, like Martin and Crossbones did....

The dish is cheap enough from that site, but the eBay dish comes with an additional polar mount and ground stand so it has considerable added value. I seriously doubt that the eBay dish will be sold for any less than £400 and at that price it is a monster bargain.

For someone like yourself Martin who is good at improvisations and building a polar mount then the eBay dish could be seen as overpriced. To a "non improviser" person, the addition of the polar mount in the listing adds great value.

If you ever get round to building and selling polar mounts as you indicated you might in another topic then I for one would definitely be in the queue for your services, you could also sell me that RC2000C at the same time :)

That was some nice sat-set on sale couple of days ago. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for somebody) it is gone now. Final price was not too high. Something tells me that this dish is 1,2m Visiosat. Motor and its control unit just terribly great.

Yep, that's a Visiosat 120.
Never seen the motor before. Looks like a El/Az type??
