It is not so cold ATM, but still freezing temperatures. This snow with some addings is on the ground from beginning of January.

Quite an ornate birdbath you have there, complete with central fountain.

Our birdbath split in the cold this winter - need to replace the bloody thing.

So now its got an old dinner tray on top of it to keep some water in it!

We had that a year ago .............. the thing is quite big and made of concrete: Failing to remove most of the water before a prolonged freezing spell causes the damage.

We were lucky as the Garden Centre we originally got if from for about £50 in total, some years ago, flogged us a new bowl for it for £10. Just lifted (or, rather, craned!) the old bowl off the spigot locating it onto the pedestal and popped the new one on.

Yes, that is to feed ostriches, 2 meters in diameter. Unfortunately those birds do not survive in such rough conditions :-crying

Maybe you might just get a new bowl, then - or is it "all in one"?

Its in 2 parts but it ws fairly cheap and I rather doubt the bowls are available separate - in any case the base has started to crumble as well - too many months sitting on sodden ground the last 3 years!
