Even though ditches have, in places, been renovated in the past couple of years, vast amounts of water are running off the fields onto the lanes. Driving anywhere is hazardous.

Although still windy, it's dry with some sunshine here. Sometimes the farmers dig out the ditches (fosse) here but usually it's the local village who make sure they are clear......I knew I was paying €1000 a year for something...

Whilst watching that, I noticed the Audio Slider goes up to ................... Eleven!

Someone at the Beeb is a Spinal Tap fan, clearly.

Sort of good news for you poor sods around the country who have experienced flooding..
Just on the news that the Thames has started overflowing - Thames Ditton -
Those thick as pigshit not in our backyard ..not our problem ...I'm allright Jack..politicians can't ignore that one ..
So perhaps if _they_ get a taste in London ...they will be more sympathetic to the rest of the UK.
just my 10 cents ..
but then I AM a member of the grumpy old man club..

I personnaly think for this year foreign aid should be kept in the UK to help the flood victims. Watching on the news here it looks like a third world disaster.

Thames Ditton is in my backyard, about a mile away as the crow flies.

And between us and the Thames is this plot of land

..at least the residents on that plot wont complain too much about the water CH
Seriously tho ..
Appologies if my rant offended anyone ..
I certainly don't want _anyone_ to suffer flood related woes..though sadly this looks unavoidable.
Quite simply I was hoping more recent events might prick the collective conciences of those who control the purse strings.

Cleared up enough here for the French Air Force to practice air combat and give us a sonic boom earlier...freaked the dogs out....

Fair amount of snow outside here at the moment, been flurries since around 3pm. More of this overnight will end up causing travel disruption in the morning.

Very light dusting of the white stuff this morning (Barely enough to snort) - the first we've had all Winter.
