Anyone know where Parliament will be reconstituted if it ever becomes untenable in London? Is it going to be Barnsley?

We do not want them either.:)

Wind gusts have eased down to a more moderate 60-70mph now ..
No idea of the final slate missing tally ..too dark to see..
Haven't lost any dishes from what I can see ..though Tom appears to have shifted significantly ..
The TD110 _was on its eastern endstop so was pointing roughly 68 East before the winds ..
Now is at right angles to the South facing wall ..so pointing roughly 90 East -ish
Bins out tomorrow to inspect the roof more thoroughly ..but I fear there are holes..
There goes my insurance premium ..unless I can patch it myself ..and I hate going on rooves

High winds here.I hate to think what it must be like on the west coast.
It looks like the stabb motor for my TD88 has had it.
I sent it to 53 East.It is stuck somewhere around there. It will not move.
It has been acting up for some time. The 100cm is ok.

North West Yorkshire - near Lancashire & Cumbria borders.
I must say its been hellish here tonight -- just starting to ease a little now i think - and coming more from the west now, - better for my dishes - a little more shelter from that direction.
my 1.2 channel master is the most exposed -- and was hopping about like mad an hour ago when i went out to check .. but its a strong piece of kit and should survive o.k. --
But like you "Vipersan " i,m concerned about roof damage , i,m sure there will be some .

I've moved mine into the roof to avoid any damage 39e/42e helps tilt the dish into house, far too exposed when on sats other side of the arc.

More dangerous was I rode home from work on bike

Was pretty brutal here from about 6pm to 11pm, strong gusts with a mix of blizzards & driving sleet. No damage though that I've noticed. Happily enough for myself, the satellite dish on the car tyre in the back garden didn't budge.

The damage was terrible up here, our recycling wheelie bin fell over, I don't know how we can go on with life if this keeps happening..... :-rofl2

Seriously though, it is definitely looking pretty bad down south, it may be time to abandon ship, grab your passports and head up north, well, assuming we let you over the north/south border...:D

Interesting discussion on the Jeremy Vine Prog. (BBC Radio 2) alleging massive over-reaction to the flooding etc.

Most people seem to agree, to some extent, that a sense of proportion is required along with a more balanced perspective. Even some of those directly affected (One of the points being that actually there aren't that many, especially in comparison to events in other Countries) seem to give credit for the efforts of the Authorities and the relative efficacy of defences.

I'm wondering why we don't conscript a few of our larger politicians and get 'em to lie down in front of at risk properties ..
Certainly an option if we run out of sandbags..
What a pickles eh..and Cyril Smith ..shame he's no longer with us ..
I suspect he'd have stopped a bit of flooding on his own..
Before you all overreact ..it's just a joke to lighten the mood ..
We wouldn't expect them to actually perform this public service ...at least ..not without a snorkel each.
;)

Nice and sunny today.Quiet before the storm.
My TD88 was tight on the pole, but had moved a lot.The F connector was broken.
Got it sorted now.My house faces south.
The dish is set to 0.8 west on both pics. The second one is correct, after reset.

Edit spoke too soon wind and rain now.

If they did you would get the Japanese whaler ships coming up the Thames, harpoons at the ready!!
