Welp, as suspected, the TM5402 M3 does NOT display SNR before lock - at least not for me.

Same here, the TM-5402 (M3) don't give a signal quality level indicator for channels it cannot lock.

Don't think it will CJ. Think the PV only came out in May.Ger, it's the latest 1.34p. Will try 1.17p. Will PV stuff still work on it?

Unfortunately no satellite receiver I have ever used has had 100% perfect software / hardware maybe one day they will get it right 1st time
imo it will never happen as what is perfect for 0ne person/set up/location wont be for another. Technomate do an excellent job though and apart from a few blips along the way are consistant in releasing excellent quality/VFM stb,s.
Hm, another issue with TM5402M3 - and something I've had with M1 too - I have a mixture of USALS and 36v motors, so I need satellites to be on different things. However, when I change a motor type for one satellite in TM5402, it changes it for ALL satellites. F15 doesn't do that.
I consider this a bug really... unless there's a way to do this that I don't know about? (without using a PC editor)
My Handan-made sd box from 10 years ago: very sensitive and fast 'no-lock-needed' signal meter (+audio freq to tv), and 1st class individual channel audio levels! (see attach.) Some (all!) modern receivers should have such functions.Unfortunately no satellite receiver I have ever used has had 100% perfect software / hardware maybe one day they will get it right 1st time
