Yeah I kicked ass (or Donkey) in the Champions league, unlike the PL where I am not having a good time at all...

UniSat Results:
IUF Grabs 4-23 Badm******s
Satellites RED 68-38 Donkeytown
Mucho Calor Huy! 54-8 UMBAA Laugh
AC Few 53-71 Dogs Bollox
Toondrastic 16-58 Purple Mob
RED United 66-2 Rapscallions

England's challengers in the UEFA Champions League were eliminated, meaning there are no teams from these shores in the semis for the first time in 7 years. Arsenal went down 4-1 to Lionel Messi moreso than Barcelona, and Man United were rumbled by Bayern Munich at Old Trafford. Inter and Lyon also advanced.

In the UniSat CL, the battle lines for the final group games are drawn. Already through to the semi, with top 4 places assured, are T_G and his son T_G Jnr. RED United sealed their place with victory over Rapscallions.

The fight for 3rd and 4th is the focus now, the contenders are:

Mucho Calor Huy, mhku: A 54-8 win over Den League champions UMBAA Laugh means that they have the best chance, and could yet knock out follow SupaLiga team and Champions League champions...

Donkeytown, Norm: The loss to group leader Satellites RED has given hope to the Den Leaguers, and was the worse build-up for the all-SupaLiga showdown. There is an outside chance also that a draw could see both through, but only if neilzilla's Dogs lose.

Dogs Bollox, neilzilla: Winning the all-DL encounter against awd's AC Few has given neil the best chance to qualify of all the DL managers. A win over malcolm's Toondrastic will ensures qualification.

Purple Mob, mb63: With the current highest points total with those on 15 group points, and only 7pt behind 3rd place mkhu, mb63 is in prime position to take a spot should neil fail to defeat the Toon (and for there not to be a draw in the Mucho-Donkey game).

AC Few, awd and Badm******s, tomthebomb1968: Like mb63, this pair will need neil to slip up, but they also need to make up points deficits in the process. The odds of tom progressing are now in the 100's; he faces leaders T_G's Satellites RED, he needs Dogs Bollox to lose, a positive result in the all-SupaLiga play-off, and to outscore Dogs, Mob and AC Few!

UniSat Results:
Rapscallions 7-3 IUF Grabs
Purple Mob 34-28 RED United
Dogs Bollox 37-2 Toondrastic
UMBAA Laugh 2-30 AC Few
Donkeytown 38-45 Mucho Calor Hoy!
Badm******s 6-7 Satellites RED

Mourinho's Inter will take a 3-1 lead to the Camp Nou Tuesday night as Barcelona must face up to the greatest challenge so far in their defence of the title, while Bayern are 1-0 up in their encounter with Lyon.

In SupaLiga, with Satellites RED and RED United already through, there were only two places left.

One would go to the winner of the SupaLiga 'play-off' between SL champions mkhu's Mucho Calor Huy! and CL champions Norm's Donkeytown.

There will definitely be a new champion, as the Donkeys lost out 45-38 to Huys, with super Wesley Sneijder earning mhku 20pts with a goal and assist against Barca.

The fourth and final semi place, then, was sure to go to a Den League team - Dog Bollox (neilzilla), Purple Mob (mb63) or AC Few (awd). In the event, it went to the manager whose team went into last week's games in 4th. The Dogs trunched malc's Toondrastic 37 to 2, 8 of the Dogs points coming courtesy of Bayern's Arjen Robben, scorer of the winner versus Lyon. All other result's, including mb63's and awd's victories, were of no consequnce as a result.

The UniSat semi finals are as follows:

Satellites RED (T_G) v Dogs Bollox (neilzilla)
RED United (T_G Jnr) v Mucho Calor Huy! (mhku)

(Weekly scores available in attached full table, which now includes full transfer breakdown!)

After United's dismal week mid way through April, in which a loss to Chelsea gave the Blues a huge boost in the title race, and elimination at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League, it looked like the writing was on the wall. Not so, for Spurs, fresh from victory over Arsenal, repeated the trick against Chelsea, and we now go into the final two weekends with a mere point seperating Chelsea and United.

In SupaLiga, my Dynamo team's lead at the top was diminished week after week with continuing poor performances, and finally this weekend my 30 week stay in 1st was ended. The new leader, with a 26pt advantage over 2nd place mhku's Mucho Calor Huy! to boot, is stuzeeuk and his Paraletic Athletic. But for an unbelievable revival in my fortunes the SupaLiga crown will go to either of the latter pair - can mhku defend his title, or will stuzeeuk win SupaLiga for the first time?

The April MotM award, despite taking top spot and the top weekly score across the month with 91pts (GW36), did not go to stuzeeuk however. The accolade is bestowed instead on pazinho, who enjoyed a magnificant GW36 as his Dragoes do Blackburn team jumped an amazing 4 places to 4th with 87pts.

pazinho's has quietly been earned big points consistently this month - the Portuguese's lowest score was 55pt - and his huge progression in the Gameweek just past masks the hard week put in by Dragoes. At the start of the month, they were in 8th and 68pts behind Calcio Carlo Ancelotti, john_graydon's men being 4th at that time. To leapfrog the chasing pack behind Calcio is quite something.

And the most intriguing fact of all? pazinho is the highest placed manager not to have incurred a transfer penalty.

Johnny's Calcio have dropped to 5th, as the previous occupant, malcolm with Toondrastic, dropped down to 8th and must now fight tooth and nail to regain the Champions League place that he has had a hand on for so long. malc's long time adversaries, the 'REDs' of T_G Jnr and S_G, are still right there in the thick of it. One thing's for sure, five certainly does not go into two*!

Also worthy of mention is the March award winner, kreacher, whose Creatures achieved the 3rd highest gross monthly total. rolfw and Norm also earned top marks in GW33 and 34 respectively with Satellite Screwballs (70pts) and Donkeytown (66pts).

* And if I don't improve quickly, neither will six into three!

The 'Special One' added to his brugeoning reputation by guiding his Inter team to victory and knocking out champions FC Barcelona, with a tactic somewhat reminiscent of 'parcking the bus', as he once described! He'll be joined in the final at the Bernabeu by his former Chelsea tropper, Arjen Robben, as Bayern Munich destroyed Lyon 3-0 to set-up a duel with bigger consequences than the destination of the trophy - should Inter fail to win the match in normal or extra time, Germany will take Italy's 4th Champions League spot from 2011/12.

It was semi final time in UniSat as well...

Satellites RED 41-33 Dogs Bollox

Den League's last remaining representative, neilzilla had to go up against the group stage winners, T_G. In the event, neil's faith in Barcelona's Lionel Messi was misplaced, and Dogs score of 33pt was the lowest of the four semi finalists. Satellites and T_G booked their final place in no small part due to the hat-trick hero in Bayern victory over Lyon, Ivica Olic (11pts). Satellites are the favourites to win now.

RED United 40-43 Mucho Calor Huy!

It was a much tigher affair altogther in the all-SupaLiga semi between group stage runner-up T_G Jnr and SupaLiga champion mhku. Again, captaining Messi was Junior's downfall, as United's big scorer was actually Gerard Pique (12pts). mhku took the victory not by virtue of an individual player's heroics, but a balance team and just clinced the win by a three point margin.

Thus, the final is:

Satellites RED v Mucho Calor Huy!

And serving as an unofficial 'undercard' to determine 3rd places is:

Dogs Bollox v RED United

(Weekly scores available in attached full table, which now includes full transfer breakdown!)

The season is over and while it looked unlikely for such a long time, in the end the champion of SupaLiga is stuzeeuk with Paraletic Athletic!

Stu’s season got off to fantastic start as Athletic were top in Gameweek 2. While the Paras settled into the lower places in the top 10 during autumn, Stu’s boys were never out of hunt and when December came Athletic began their run up the table as they got up to 3rd for the turn of the year, taking the December Manager of the Month award in the process.

Meanwhile, my team Dynamo Sol, 1st for so long was starting to wilt as the months went on. Stu’s Athletic, on the other hand, continued their campaign in fantastic style, and in February got up to 2nd. There they stayed until the end of the April, when they shortly fell behind former champion mhku’s Mucho Calor Huy! before GW36 when, finally, three weeks from the end, Athletic took 1st place. Mhku’s Huys condemned my Dynamo team to further misery, as I saw my long-time leaders hit the rails to go 3rd.

From there on in, Stu needed only to hold off mhku’s defence of the title, and duly did so to finish with a margin of victory of 26pts. Stuzeeuk also wins the Manager of the Year title, previously left vacant as there was no overall winner last season.

Tragically, I didn’t even finish in the top 3, as john_graydon’s Calcio Carlo Ancelotti leapfrogged me in the final week. John was 2nd for much of the season, so this and a Champions League place will be worthy compensation.

Taking the final Champions League place is T_G Jnr and his RED United team. The battle for the last ticket really heated up in the final month or so as malcolm couldn’t guide is Toondrastic outfit to a comfortable finish in 5th. The Toon dropped out of 5th in GW33 as T_G Jnr took their place.

However, their duopoly on this place was rocked in the final fortnight by pazinho as Dragoes do Blackburn rocketed up to 4th from 8th in GW36.
Alas for pazinho, it didn’t last, as the Portuguese couldn’t keep up the pace and RED United beat them to it in the final week to finish in 5th by a mere 2pts.

Malcolm’s Toondrastic suffered badly in the run-in and ended the season in 8th, but malc can be proud that during this crazy campaign he scored the highest weekly in the unforgettable GW22, in which all of those snowed off games were played, scoring 157pts.

stuzeeuk, mhku and john_graydon – you will be receiving your badges shortly!

Coming soon – SupaLiga @ 2010 FIFA World Cup!!!

Well done to the winners and a big thanks once again to Salty for organising the competition, generating the timely reminders for team changes, producing weekly updates and manager of the month awards! And before we know it, he will be running a World Cup Supaliga - Mamma Mia, surely even Fabio Capello isn't that busy!!

WEll done Paraletics, great season for you. I don't know if anyone noticed, but in the last weeks I have been fieldiong weakened teams - it was clear to me that a top 5 would not be possible so I concentrated my efforts in keeping my players in good condition for the CHL final :)
It looks like I'll make the CHL next year as defending champion or as second place, as the Muchos are qualified anyway due to their 2cd place in the PL.
