As the morning is lovely, but due to take a turn for the worse later, I thought I'd finish off trimming the hedge: Very lucky indeed not to lose a finger after a moment's lack of attention - caught my pinkie in the blade of the electric trimmer just before it came to rest.

Hit the bone in a relatively non-fleshy part and SWMBO got some dressings out quick-smart.

Ouch.

Yes, it seems so but, notwithstanding recent glitches, I'm fitter and healthier overall than for a long time. And have a good few years to continue enjoying our pleasant UK (With or without Scotland) climate ;)

Well ,i've been out tinkering with my 60cm tripod set up setting up multi lnbs and its very chilly once that sun goes in. I thought it might rain this morning as it was so grey. Damn those BBC optimistic weather announcers.

The thread might need to be changed again after tonight. Gales and persistent rain forecast for the rest of Easter. Today, I was mainly out on an Easter egg hunt at Claremont Lake

Well it does say "optimistic"......

Had a brief shower here about half an hour ago, though it's been pretty sunny all day albeit with a cold north easterly wind.....fine enough for the farmer to spread t'muck in the adjacent field anyway......

Wonderful day here: Just collected some fresh eggs from under a somewhat indignant chicken and am going to add them to yesterday's haul to make a Tortilla for our Picnic >>> As my Gout episode has more or less resolved, we're going off to do a rather splendid walk in Nettledale, a beautiful area close to Rievaulx Abbey.

What's everyone else doing this fine Easter Monday?

Not doing much here...it's looking a bit dreary outside so will probably watch a couple of movies or catch up on the Shakespeare course I'm taking online...

I've actually been involved with constructing the "hotte" (basically a chimney breast) over the log burner. I've spent ages gluing pieces of insulation (mineral wool with aluminium foil coating) to the wall and recess.

Next is to glue the insulation to the inside of the framework that gives the hotte its shape. It's nowwhere as easy it sounds with not a single perpendicular wall or square floor.

What's everyone else doing this fine Easter Monday?

Naff all... :-rofl2

Nah, just been over to expensiveco's to buy some reduced price easter eggs, and boy have the locals stripped the shelves of them, except for the disney dropout eggs, cos nobody wants those, they all turn into twerking twerps, all I got was a Toffee Crisp egg and a slightly bashed smarties egg...:-rofl2

Now all I'm doing is thinking of things I should probably be doing but am not doing cos I can't be bothered to, but I should do them anyway... :confused

Very commendable, VS: It's raining today, so I'll spend time finishing off our own Spring-Cleaning later.

Spent my Monday out with the binoculars and camera, hoping to get sightings, or even better, photos of a couple of rare visiting birds up near Combe Gibbet in Berkshire , not much success though.

Did spend a lot of time watching a pair of Ravens flying in unison, unfortunately too high for decent photos.
