Here's another interesting programme, this time on Friday.

From the EPG

20:00 - 21:00 (01:00)
BBC 2 Scotland

Colin Prior - Mountain Man: Adventure...
(leisure/hobbies/suicidal pursuits)

...Show Special. 9/9. This month's programme follows landscape photgrapher Colin Prior as he begins a five-year project to capture the majesty and grandeur :-veils of the Karakoram mountains in Pakistan.

Note that is BBC 2 Scotland only.

If you can't get it on terrestrial, lucky you , you can get it by satellite. :unsure

Well, as the Weather Forecasters seem to have got it right for once and this May Bank Holiday Monday is already glorious, we're off to a little-known part of the Moors, near Helmsley, called Riccal Dale.

This is an annual pilgrimage for us, as the Dale is carpeted with acre upon acre of Bluebells, both in the valley bottom and along the hillsides. We've even seen the occasional Albino Bluebell (A Whitebell??) there.

It's also an area where we frequently see Slow Worms.

So, Salmon Sandwiches packed, off we trot (Stopping briefly in Helmsley to buy a couple of Iced Fingers and a Currant Slice, and to gaze in wonder at the hordes of tourists who never stray more than a few yards from the Town Centre Car Parks - fortunately).

Well all i have planned so far is watching a 747 arriving at Bruntingthorpe for scrapping from Manchester around 10.25 this morning. A nice low approach will hopefully take what little hair off i have.

Morning to you.

Wish I were there .............would be great if you could possibly attach a few pics or video of this and the reg details or shout when they arrive on your flickr site.

¿Guess it might be shown on Flight Radar?

Thanks for that and I hope you enjoy the event. :)

Well, even though it isn't a holiday here (though Thursday is...oh, and last Monday was..), it's turned out to be a beautiful day here and I've washed the car, hosing off the accumulated manure and mud from the inner wheel arches. Not much else planned so will probably watch a bit of snooker and sample the (sloppy) banoffee pie I made yesterday.

With the right sort of angle grinder it should take no longer than an hour:-saw

Been overcast here, most of the weekend, including today, also seems a little colder, than I expected, and now the wind is picking up.
Still waiting for a nice, warm, spring day, might get one in Summer !!!!!!!!!!

Its amazing how often that is the case in touristy places like Matlock. These days you are more likely to get peace and quiet on your walk on bank holidays than ever before.

I put it down to people sitting in front of a screen all day and forgetting how to move their legs.

Still, their loss is our gain.

Pleasant and not too cold here ..but like you Mickha...waiting for some holes in the cloud cover that's been hanging about all weekend..
Not much chance now as it's set to thicken and eventually rain later today..
Mancunians tend to rust not tan to get brown ..and suffer from Rickets from vitamin D deficiency ..the only vitamin we can produce in our bodies ..
but sunshine needed in the mix.
...and you thought that Manchester Swagger was just an attitude related way of walking ..
;)

Aye that sums us up, the moisture absorbed by the winds over the Atlantic have to rise to get over the Pennines, hence we are just a dumping ground for all that moisture

Vitamin D tablets are now quite popular over the winter period. I have them and I can recommend them.

On the subject of Vitamin D tablets, some people have reported a feeling of well being and a more cheerful mood.

Apparently that happens when they have a Vitamin D deficiency and that is the effect of the tablets working.

I suffer from IBD, my specialist advises me to keep my vitamin D intake up to help with healing, so i take supplements when i'm not eating oily fish!

Vitamin D Also important in the construction of Myelin ..
Thus beneficial to me in my hours of need..
http://www.lef.org/protocols/neurological/multiple_sclerosis_01.htm
I even asked my niece who was pregnant during my recovery period to express breast milk for my consumption ...as this is very high in the required _type_ of vitamin D
ie D2 D3 ..
It may sound a bit perverse ...but it ain't and when you are _that_ ill ...you'll try anything..

Never heard of that before. Yes it does sound odd but you have to try anything, you would never know if it would prove useful otherwise.

So in your case, breast really is best....

Indeed it was ..
..and I guess I did feel a bit uncomforatble trying it ..or even asking for it ..
But I did get almost 80% functionality back from my damaged nerves ..so yes ..
I'm glad I tried it though can't confirm it was a contributing factor.
I made such significant progress from partial paralysis to my current state..
One of the docs in the clinical trial I'm a part of...refers to me as ..my patient who isn't really ill..
A strange complement I guess.
