There were two Orbital 80 designs, steel or aluminium reflector, the 1m was aluminium only.

Yes, now rare, hence why I stored one away for armageddon.

You might find a Fracarro (Penta) dish works for you. I have a used one of those waiting an install that needs something for the specification.

Again, rare in the larger sizes
What happened to Orbital did they go bust or pull out of the sat market?

Yeah mine was a dark grey 1m so aluminium.

I didn’t check the stats on one of those, I know the 88cm ones perform very well judging by reports from users etc.

I have already enquired to TPS. They’re out of stock and they won’t be getting any more in funnily enough. Interesting they were steel though. Mine was 9 years old and still in good condition.

I got it from Eurosat in Walsall.

Not seen many people mention using the 1m Fracarro offset dishes. Are they ans impressive as the Penta 85’s?

The 85’s seemed incredibly popular when certain local councils had a 90cm dish diameter limit.

I am still hunting a decent 1m but have a question regarding two dishes I have seen advertised.

One is a 'Lenson Heath'. I have never heard of them before but it looks identical to an Orbital. Plastic elevation bracket on the back. The LNB arm looks the same. What happened to Lenson Heath and are they related to Orbital?

Secondly, I have seen what looks like a Gibertini clone?

Did companies clone the Gibertini's? The rear brackets on that look identical to my Gibertini 85cm.

Lenson Heath goes back to the 90s (80s?) - haven't heard that name in a loooong time!

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!

That's got to be the lightest and smallest and lightest sat dish I've ever come across ["Weight: 0.00 Grams; Width:10.00 (cm) Height: 10.00 (cm), Depth:10.00(cm)"] !:-rofl2 . It might be a clone, or even a rebranded Gibertini , but do they even sell them that way?.

However, I'd generally be very loath  to buy from a company (like that! one!) that can't even get the basic details of the product correct on its website (and is the picture even correct?)!!

Edited:
That said
, I've dealt with the other supplier (Trade-works) that your pointed at, before and always got what I paid for - but their's is a different dish (4 dish bolts, not 6) and quite a lot more expensive (but about what I'd probably expect).

Personally, I think I'd keep looking for a S/H Gibby on ebay or on Sphock or Gumtree (or even Craigs List?) as I've seen quite a few there over the years.

CPC sell them too by the looks.

It would definitely be a credit card job I think.

That is the Lenson Heath and it looks just like the rear mount on my old Orbital.

Struggling to see a difference between the Gibertini 100 LN and the Vision dish.

I have found what looks like a Primesat dish locally.

Does anyone know the 1m performs? I know they are Alu and very light. That's about it.

Honestly, all 1m alu dishes will work more or less the same. I've worked with 1.4m PF Primesat dish and it was decent. No reason why this won't be the same.

Isn't the same basically true for most dishes in a particular size "group" (aluminium or not) provided they are not damaged AND are set up correctly (the latter being probably the most important factor)?

OTOH, we have seen that some are incorrectly designed, with feedarms at the wrong angle &/or length and so need those issues corrected.

PS: also discounting the very large petalled versions which, presumably, have a lot more scope for "variable performance" due to the way they're constructed.

There are performance differences between mesh/perforated and solid reflectors.

Additionally rigidity of the metalwork to keep on station during high winds.

I'll be in Birmingham city centre next Friday/Sat/Sun, so can potentially meet to give you either the CM or the Fibo 90cm...

Thanks for the offer @Captain Jack but I need something a bit more conventional as I want to continue to use my diseqc motor and not go down the 36v route. Hence the Orbital or Gib.

I have messaged a couple of people on Gumtree/Facebook etc about dishes. One asked me to come and take the dish down for them and the other 2 were not 1m dishes when I asked them to measure them for me.

I have a old Lenson Heath 1m dish in my garage + pole mount. I had it in south of France for five years, and it worked well. Moved out (Lockdown woes) and brought back the dish, to use in another French house. But that might not happen now.

Actual sizes - horizontal 100.4 cm - vertical 106.7 cm - Weight 13.6 Kg (packed - actual weight would be less)
