Hi everybody,
i just thinking about this kind of installation.

This is just an idéa and already some problems turn in my mind.
First, some of you will say that a polar mount can do the job...

Ok but this is just more exciting i think, no ?

As you can see the idea is to use normal DiSEqC signal from any receiver to move a dish using 2 actuators plugged to diseqc to 36v positioner and a H to H DiSEqC motor for the polarisation.
Every DiSEqC to 36v positioner are sold with a remote to configure them.

the deal is to configure for the satellite position #1 the elevation on one positioner and the azimut one the second one and the same for the polarisation.
When the receiver send the DiSEqC signal for #1, everyone drives to the programed position.

1st solved probleme, for the polarisation just switch off the two positioners let you configure it with the receiver.

2nd probleme, if used with a normal polar mount we stored satellite from a side to other side in the right order, in this case for the elevation the position stored will go up and then will go down after the 0°.
Is it possible ?

3rd probleme, the loss of Db added by every positioner and the motor...

Every help will be appreciated !

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Custom built PC

Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
Look at the Yaesu G-5500 antenna rotor.

With a proper counter balance you can rotate and do elevation on almost any size satellite dish.

Thanks you @Terryl but the deal is to manage with a normal receiver, with this motor you have to use is control panel.
I want something more simple to use every day and in the same time something a little bit crazy.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Hi everybody,
i just thinking about this kind of installation.

As long as you have one LNBs with dual outputs (or more), only one needs to have DiSEqC commands and a motor in the way.

In my opinion use an obsolete but still functional SD receiver for doing the work of motorising, the first, most expensive one in HD (or perhaps a PC card for the 4.2.2 stuff) bringing in the pictures and sound.

Thanks for your reply but it seems that my idea is misunderstood.
the idea is to use only simple systems, cheap and available everywhere.
like you I dream about professionnels systems but the prices are also pro ...

Far too complicated.

Use a USALS motor to track the arc. And use an actuator to adjust declination. East/west will be completely automatic. And for inclined satellites you can control declination manually, or write a plugin to do it.

Just keep looking I believe it only cost £100 pound for the controller from memory, good luck with your task :-).
