A list of possibles would be nice ..
Which bird(s) are you after ?
Which transponders can you currently lock ..if any ?
and at what levels using a linear lnb ..
I ask simply cos I too have a couple of Ku circular lnbs that have yet to prove themselves ..but then 1.5m may be too small at my location..
As ever ..
Curious.

Well there is only 2 birds to chose from I think ?, but 36E Evan, all that's been picked up so far is in the fringe thread.

Much as I suspected ..
Locked a couple of SSB tansponders on 36E myself in the past ..but these were of course linear ..
Has anyone in the UK locked a circular polarised transponder on this bird ??
I know I couldn't..
but then I'm way on footprint edge ..and was using a linear lnb on a 1.5 at the time ..so have my doubts re-circular
Cheers Martin

Not read all in depth as yet ..but I will ..
Yes the footprint tapers off quickly I fear going westward ...and Nelson probably was using his 1.8 ..
BIG difference ..
lol
I'll dig my circular ku out and swap it out with the ku linear which is approx 2 degrees off focus ..and give it another go ..
IF the rain stops tonight..
doh!

You know me ..
always game for a larrrff..
Not really expecting anything ..as I have tried in the past ..but not with a dedicated circular lnb ..
Smaller dish at 1.5 may be my downfall ...or my location ..

What's your arc with the big dish Evan please.
approx 64E to 58W when shes running with a 10 to 15 degree block in summer centred around 50E (The TT)..but totally unstuitable for Ku mate..
as a 1.8 she behaves more like a 1m in Ku ..
Which is why Christina is dedicated to the more forgiving C band

Ok tis wet out there and cloudy which dont make for ideal dxing conditions ..
but here is my first V/R scan on 36E using the EagleStar dedicated circular polarised Ku lnb ..
H/L to follow ..
12092 does not show..even as a NO-lock..36E in the drizzle V-R scan using EagleSTAR Ku circular lnb.png

Looking at the scan 12129 (12130) might be possible on a clear dry day ..

VS you have "just" 3 dB's missing for 12129 R and 12149 L, when it's cold and clear, you'll lock a few.
For 12092 R, you'll need to use linear LNB, horizontal, to suppress 12073 V (Sub Sahara Beam).
