it would be ok if I only had to go 3ft above gutter but for the bottom of the dish to be in line or above the main roof I reckon at least 4ft could be wrong

24 is safe but I think 18 would be ok too, since you'll have the motor and the dish bracket pushing it further away from the wall. 18 is preferable because of less distance from the wall

This could be your arc on the front of the house above the gutter probably a chance at 70.5 if nothing is on the horizon, if you put it lower on the front you should still get 57E, on the back were it was you would loose a fair bit E/W,

Ste, that price is a rip-off and, like Martin says, don't go with aluminium, especially when it's above the gutter. Definitely go to a local scaffold merchant (or a nearby construction - there's always someone here putting scaffolding up) and get a decent pole from them.

When I was putting my 1.2m Gibby up years ago, I got 3x 2 metre long poles plus some couplers for a tenner...

Don't forget you will need a flashing to dress around the pole and onto the tiles.

That LNB is funny, it has some weird angle that makes it look like it's pointing at 45 degrees when it's not. Basically, the connector should be pointing straight down.

I would suggest that you try an Inverto Black Ultra LNB as well. They are cheap and generally perform better than most others out there.

The TM 0.1 does not perform very well on my setup, but the 02 TM performs better than the black ultra, I think the 0.1 are for long cable runs, anyhow the Tm LNB have marks on them so you cant go wrong.

I would swap that lnb in the near future like Alex says, it does not perform very well on weak signals, but it will get you started.
