Space Communications announced today the launch date of the new satellite revised - out of the sky delayed by over a year. Amos 6 will replace the Amos 2 will provide, among other things broadband services in Africa, cooperation with Facebook

Fleet operator Spacecom of Israel, whose Amos 6 launch has grown only more crucial since the November in-orbit failure of its Amos 5, told investors on Feb. 29 that the Amos 6 launch had been delayed again, to between July and September rather than the previously announced date of May.

For a country that can design, build and launch satellites, one would think they can afford to give it's citizens the best channel quality for free.
Instead, we have four FTA channels with channel quality that is a disgrace.
Nilesat on 7W has about a 1000 FTA channels and they have many FTA HD channels.
Go figure!!!

What a waste.
On the local news they mentioned that an even number for Amos brings in bad luck. The developers might consider using only odd numbers from now on, but number 13 will not be used for sure.
