I rather doubt - the 2B Africa beam is much more of a spot beam centred on Nigeria which is a loooong way from the islands.

the 1N UK beam is a spot beam centred on london which is also a loong way from the islands

I am saying that existing installations will get more channels as the 2B North channels go san-European. They already E28A fixed.

(In fact am 80cm dish with quality LNB will do it ... But for 2F ???)

Sent from my LT18i using Tapatalk 2

E28A FIXED not possible on a 80cm need a good 1M
2A south you can use a 60cm now ..maybe a 80/90 on 2F but
to get 2F/2C/E28A a 1M will be standard
i have already talked to a Spanish firm that will do the upgrades for brits that want it
as i will not have time as i will be snowed under doing INTERNET TV installations

The 2B west Africa beam frequencies are all within a few MHz of Eutel 28A frequencies so unless someone has a very big dish to separate 28.2/28.5E then they will get Eutel 28A - which has a lobe over the Canaries anyway so will be much higher power.

Sorry to contradict you but in Gran Canaria a good quality 80cm dish with Inverto Black Ultra reliably picks up E28A Fixed. I have this configuration in my rental villa.

well i will ask them to install a 1m with a off the shelf local €5 LNB as the bigger dish is better in the rain then a better LNB but each to his own
you sell your customers your set up and ill sell mine .... no chance of me coming over there .... got 20,000 brits here to sort out ..

oh very well done that man ..... i need to look at my E28A channels and see if any dont come in as they should as i always wondered why on the same beam i get SOME channels ok and SOME not as well ,could be a lot of factors BUT i tell you now (WARINNG ONLY AN OPTION - MY IDEAS CAN GO UP OR DOWN ) it strikes me as another VERY GOOD REASON that the new WAB service will not go anywhere near this current 2A/E28A mess and that the status quo will stay that way until the court case is over and SES can boot out E28A and tidy up this pigs ear of channel allocation
so back to MY IDEA (NO FACTS HERE READERS) that UK and WAB beams both in low band from day one .....you know it makes sense

I'm using a 2.5mtr dish, 4 output LNb with verticle setting + L/H 30 Deg askew with a Sky+ HD box... in Morocco, near Agadir. The reception here is very good with maximum on both channels. And as I'm not too far from the Canaries I'm more than pleased.
I'm selling up here & intend moving to the Canaries soonest, so all the information I'm reading on this forum is most valuable. Thanks.

Well this actually happened by accident. The specs for E28A show a 1m dish but my installer used an 80. At that time I did not have any knowledge and thought it was odd there was channel breakup on the fixed beam. I changed the LNB for an Invacom that we decommissioned at home but not much difference. A few months ago I ordered the Black Ultra (which by the way feeds a multi-switch) and all the problems went away.

We have no PSB channels in that house (obviously) and I am waiting for 2F to go live before deciding what to do next. Options are -
1. Put in a dish big enough for 2F UK spot (couldn't go bigger than a 1.8m though and not sure if the cost is worth it, but it would feed all five receivers and get the most channel derivatives)
2. Put in a separate receiver and dish for Intelsat 907 (Channel 5 HD comes in from 28.2E)
3. Make do with catch up services via Sky On-Demand and UK VPN (which I will be setting up anyway this week)

Boringly, I think option 3 might win on cost grounds. It is a good compromise.

I'm using an iPlayer enabled Sony Blu-Ray player. The iPlayer is catch up only but the picture quality is stunning.
