Sadly lots of people are given bad advice, perhaps drumming up trade before christmas. Some friends of ours in their late 70s were told by their friendly (or was that fiendly) spanish satellite installer last month they would need a 1.8m dish asap to keep receiving C5 for home and away. Fortunately they asked my advice and I told them to wait and see, after the changeover all is well at no extra cost. Please keep up the good work on this forum so people dont get misinformed by experts like the talkradio one. Rant over.woborny said:If you catch it, apparently a "satellite tv expert" will be on talkradioeurope.com sometime this afternoon to tell all "exactly what is happening and what will be happening to your UK TV in Spain!"...
15:22 "on soon"
15.28: apparently "more 4" moved satellites last week with the "fives, C4HD and 4seven", and "all bbc itvs c4 and subsiduary channels will be lost in Spain on the 16th December."
1533 : expert says "Barcelona is getting the new 2F signal on a 1m dish" and "the further south you need now need a bigger dish". Which is vastly different to the reception reports!
15:41 : "all sky pay channels will not be affected by these changes"
15:43 : "The 2F sky signal is effectivley cut off at Madrid for BBC ITV".
15:46 : "The loss of BBC ITV Fives signals in south Spain are all down to the publandlady showing football in her pub.", "karen murphy did start the problem" and "hopefully Murdoch will see there is money to be made by getting these signals back to Spain on subscription!"
15:50: "The BBC are trying to save money, and pay a premium to be on the EPG, so by moving satellites they dont have to pay this!"
UNBELIVEABLE!!!

Usually to upload files on forums there's an option to "Manage Attachments" or similar when posting.Tivù said:Welcome to the Forum.
No, PMs aren't normally available until after a few Posts have been made.
But I do wonder if the new Forum Software might permit that mp3 to be uploaded to our Server - anyone know?
Let's have a goTivù said:Yes, I know - but I've personally only used it for JPG and PDF ....................
Can you try it for us?
Use the More Reply Options button at bottom right of the REply Pane and then the Attachment Manager resides at the foot of the ensuing page.

Thanks for the reporteuskalikaslea said:No reception of any sort at any time on any of the live 2F transponders in San Sebastian on an 80cm dish. Kind of worrying for the future shift of the BBC. Wondering whether we are caught in the same "lull" as our Catalan friends..
Just get a dish that is big enough. Signal is stable, but if you are going to run a dish that is on the reception limit you are always going to have problems. The same was true with 2D, hence people complaining it went off at certain times of day.Andrew Jameson said:I'm reaching the conclusion that the best solution might be via internet services using people like toowaydirect.com.
