Yes , except it wasnt transferred or " migrated" it appears, which is a subtle but important difference ( to me at least ) . Rather if what im gathering is correct it was "lit up" as a test frequency.
No - its been on for a few weeks and started on 1N.

Rememebre though its only a test frequency - no epgs are mapped to it yet. 99.9% of folk wont even be aware its there - just a few hundred or a few thousand enthusiasts will be watching it to see what happens. And lets be honest if it wasnt for that frequency being chosen to move to illuminate 2F we wouldnt be the slightest bit interested in it either!

Thanks this clears up a lot of the missunderstandings that I had.

Is it also fair to say ( based on SES info ) that 1N isnt moving untill 2E is in place. I have held installing a dish based on 2F spot taking over from 1N but now it appears that not all stations intended for UK Spot will move off 1N , doesnt quite make sense to me but if thats the case I think ill confirm hopefully next week what will work for 2F UK Spot and add 20cms and install anyway.. at this rate Ill nevre actually have anything other than Spanish channells to watch.

I dont think we can say with any certainty 1N will stay at 28E for long. I reckon more stuff will move after the epg platform freezes end in the new year

We are getting back into the realm of speculation. We have no proof either way.

So lets get back to the facts :)

Well,

Astra-2B will be freed for 19.2 East in next days.

Astra-1N should wait until Astra-2C arrival.

Do you have a source for that?

Or is it just speculation?

That is my scenario based on technical characteristics of mentioned satellites at 28.2&19.2 East.

SES Germany claims that the Astra 1N will move to 19.2 when the Astra 2E is in place in Spring 2013. Citation (it's in German):

Ja, 2E muss erst auf der 28,2 stehen, dann wird gewechselt. 1H steht kurzzeitig noch als Redundanz zur Verfügung und geht im November auf den Staellitenfriedhof. D.h. auch wenn 2F sämtliche 1N Frequenzen übernehmen kann, der 1N wird erst nach 19.2E verschoben wenn 2E im nächsten Frühjahr auf 28.2E betriebsbereit sein wird.

Google Translate:

Yes, only on 28.2 2E must stand, then is changed. 1H is briefly yet for redundancy in November and goes on Staellitenfriedhof. I.e. even if 2F can take over all frequencies 1N, 1N is postponed until after 19.2E if 2E will be operational by next spring on 28.2E.

We really need to look back at the starting gun for this Thread - an exhortation to try to stick to fact, not unsubstantiated opinion!

But we grit our teeth and carry on, as the facts are nigh.

By-the-way Staellitenfriedhof has a typo, should be Satellitenfriedhof = Satellite Graveyard. Which is rather soon for a not that old bird.
