info from SES representer who told me (2 weeks ago) that Astra-2F will replace Astra-2B. She did not mention the issue on Astra-1N

10961 isn't a test but the transponder with the Channel 5 channels (10964H).

Yes - we think they will switch to the 2F Pan European beam. 2B is to be relocated elsewhere along the arc.

I believe that is the real reason BBC and ITV are not switching to 2F as appose to a faulty satellite.

It allows more channels to go fee-to-air and join Freesat.

Might see Dave on Freesat in the not too distance future.

I dont think thats an issue nowadays - as far as I understand it any frequency can be switched between any beam. The new birds are vastly more complicated than the old early series sats.

As for Pick Challenge & Sky news folk should be careful what they wish for as Sky are bound to now carry wall to wall trailers for their pay service on those channels

Looking at the a516 site the addition of Dave is nothing but speculation - and we have more than enough of that on the forum already what with 2F!

Just lost 1N signals here for about 30 seconds then returned. A bit overcast here but nothing to stop signal.

Can't see any obvious changes to signal levels in Buckinghamshire, but then I couldn't see any changes on the BBC test transponder either.
