If you live along the south coast of England get everything loose in the garden secured this weekend - theres an intense storm predicted for you Monday with an amber warning in place!

A strong, high-level jet is expected to engage warm low level air to give rise to a rapidly moving low pressure system later on Sunday. This is expected to run northeastwards, probably across England and Wales, with very strong winds on its southern and western flanks.

There is the potential for gusts of over 80 mph, especially on exposed coasts, both in southwesterly winds ahead of the low and west to northwesterly winds behind it.

Well, today was the third day of 23C - 24C weather. Spent a lot of it on the roof replacing broken tiles.

Wind? Rain? What's that?

Nah, it's the sun beating down that causes the cracking.

Oh dear god, i can only imagine instead of cows in the wind there will be dishes from my garden lol. But hey, a day off work is a day off work (dead or alive) :-ohcrap

Awful weather this morning, my ride into work on push bike was a wash out.

local council around here needs to sort out some drains as the sides of roads were flooded.

heard it's going to be windy up here Yorkshire Sunday/Monday.

Analogsat, have you made sure your fence posts are secure for your dishes or are they all tyre mounted these days.

Yep, time to clear some space in those woodstores for collecting up downed trees, if it's windfall, it's fair game... :D

Anyway, today's weather round here was weird, absolutely tanking down this morning, then as if someone had flicked a switch, it stopped and then gradually the sun came out, al the while it was pretty warm and rather nice out once the sun appeared, but now it's clouding over again and looks like the rain may return again, not that I care, my ever so fun sleeping issues means I'll be asleep soon anyway, so the weather can do as it likes... :p

When the ground gets saturated they will start leaning like the Tower of Pizza!

:-rofl2

Looking on the bright side the storm track is not coming up here. It makes a nice change from the usual October weather. With the lack of frost the trees are very slow to change colour this year.

They all lean anyway - the soil is glacial round here & full of big stones - almost impossible to knock a post in straight when you are doing it on your own. As none of the dishes are motorised it doesnt really matter as far as Im concerned

:D
